Our family will be going to WDW from Australia in November (me, DH & DD who will be 6mths), and I have been reading about some of the "behind the scenes" tours offered.

As I do not know when we will be back to Florida, and both DH & I are geeks on "how does this work" rather than spending all of our time (say 5 days) in the parks, I thought about doing some of these tours for part of the day.

But - how does it work with the baby? I know the info says that children must be over 16, and I thought that would be so that they do not lose the pixie dust. We are both reasonably fit & happy to walk the distances, and because there seems to be no limit on most for disabled access, there should not be the problem with the stroller... or could we carry her in a baby bjorn for the time?

We are lucky dd is a pretty relaxed baby and does not get stressed by noise, movement etc (indeed she goes to sleep in noisy food courts & with dogs barking etc), so I do not think the tour would freak her out. We also would be staying in a WDW hotel, so I was planning to spend the afternoons in "down time" anyway.

Is this sort of arrangement possible, as I would love to do the tours but not have to divide up the "carers" roles to do it!

I say you call them and ask. I think the problem may be, though, liability. Because you're going backstage, that may be the reason they don't allow people under 16 on the tours. (Or you could try an e-mail, since you don't want to be on hold forever in the middle of the night!)

Other options - Babysitting services? I don't know anything about them - but someone here might.

Also, WDW is a really big place - If I wasn't going to be there for a number of years, I would want to spend 5 full days in the parks. That's only 1 day per park plus a day to make up/do over favorite things, and DTD plus water parks (not sure how high that is on your list, though - 6 months old seems a bit young - but what do I know?)

Having done this tour before, it really is very much aimed at an adult crowd. They take you into a lot of backstage areas, including a few that do bring you close to some machinary. It really isn't an appropriate tour to take a baby on and I doubt very much that Disney would permit it.
