My 2 year old will be 3 in April. We're going to Disneyland in January, some people think he already looks 3.

Will I need a birth certificate to prove he's 2 so they dont try and make us buy him a ticket? Will they accept a copy? Dont really want to be carrying the official birth certificate all around disneyland.

Get a separate, official copy of the birth certificate. Might cost money, depending on local rules. Keep one at home, take one with you.

You might also be able to get an official ID card with birthdate. In CA, it's the size of a driver's license, so it will fit in a wallet.

With my step-daughter we never had to show any type of identification or proof that she was younger than 3 years old. We took her two days before her third birthday and the CM at the entrance did ask how old she was and we just told her that she was 2 and they let us right in.

Although sediment's suggestion is great. Wish I had thought of that for my trip.
Not for free entry for me though, for the flight, all I have is a copy for ID purposes.

It's not necessary. The most they'll do is ask you, or your child, how old she is.

I would just in case. This reminds me of a time when I took my own kids to the movies. My son was 13 and my daughter was 12, they are 16 months apart. Well the woman at the ticket counter tried to argue with me because I told her I wanted one kid ticket. She would not believe that my daughter was 12 simply because at the time she was taller then my son. Well now they are 17 and going on 16 and my son is 4 inches taller then his sister. My friend's son has always been a big boy for whatever age he is and she always ran into the problem of people questioning his ture age.

We always take my youngest nephew with us too. I always have a permission note from his mother for emergencies and either a recent picture of him or this year because he is in Jr. high he is bringing his student ID.

When I took my kids to visit their Great Uncle in Canada I was questioned at customes on whether I had a note from their father whom I am married to, saying I could take them out of the country. This was last year and the kids themselves asked the lady if she was joking. She scolded me for not having one, I told them they could call him, they didn't like my suggestions.

So, for me better safe then sorry.

There is nowhere on any Disney information that it says age has to be proven. I think that it is about morals and trust. I don't think you will have a problem.

Just got back from taking our 2 year old this past weekend and were never once questioned about her age. I just handed the CM my ticket and carried her in or pushed the stroller through if we had hopped parks.

I wouldn't worry about it. I have never been questioned when buying tickets for my children.

You won't need to prove your child's age at Disneyland. They probably won't even ask you, but if they do, they'll take your word for it. Don't worry...

I have never been asked for proof of my daughter's ages, but it certainly wouldn't hurt to bring an ID card or copy of a birth certificate, if you've got one handy. :)
