To take our minds off of Ivan read this...

I'm just excited that Eisner is going to be out soon! :~D

Going on the record (finally), I've always liked Michael Eisner. I think he did a great job in turning around Disney when it was needed. However....

After this long, it is time to move on. I can identify. I was in the same position after over 10 years as an accountant at an insurance company. I was very capable at my job but everything was getting stale. I finally did the same thing Eisner is doing. I gave a two year notice. That was more than enough time to transition everything over to my replacement and for me to make plans for my future. New blood is needed every now and again.

I just dread the next two years of Eisner bashers going to town.

After Frank Wells died, everything changed. For the worse.

Like they haven't already been going to town. Simpleminded people love scapegoats.

<ducking for cover> I'm not up on this issue at all. I only got obsessed with Disney this past summer, before that I'd never paid much attention. Can someone give me a link or something to read on why this man was so bad??

Thanks

"I plan to retire from my role as Chief Executive Officer of the company upon the conclusion of the term of my employment agreement on Sept. 30, 2006." Notice how he only mentions retiring as CEO.
I don't know what to think. So many people -- Disney fans and employees alike, not to mention the Disney family -- are against him now ... but I don't know. Let us just say I am 50% optimistic and 50% suspicious.
If I were him, I'd just take the undeserved millions and run, rather than infuriating even more people.
But then again, I'm not Eisner.
And responding to the above post, no single link, but let me just say that after Frank Wells -- RIP -- passed away and Eisner became CEO, Disney slowly made the transition from a top-quality family entertainment giant and what it was always intended to be to a low-quality "do whatever the Hell we want for a dollar" type of philosophy.
Which explains the current Disney Channel perfectly.

It's never too early for a party and food . . .
And we can do it in Disney fashion-charge $10 for a hot dog and a coke!
