$300 is not alot of money to carry around. I certainly would not put it in a safe.
I typically put everything in the safe except $20.00, my ID, and my AP. I charge everything to the room. At the end of the trip I have a nice itemized receipt of everything, and I do not have to worry about losing cash, credit cards, etc. The $20 comes in handy for the occasional churro.
My wife and I and the kids have lost a few < $20 items in the park, until the trip this past weekend. My wife lost her Oakley sunglasses while watching the fireworks. She likes to put them up in her hair, and she thinks they fell off while looking up. I am not counting on them showing up at Lost and Found. I figure someone either kept them, or more than likely, they got trampled and are worthless now.
