We'll be visiting Disneyland March 15, 2005 with my daughter who willl be 9 months old. Does anyone know what rides can we take her on? Thanks!!!

I would think you could take the baby on all the rides in Fantasy Land and on IASW. I would think the Jungle Cruise, Winne the Pooh, DLRR, and POTC too.

Thanks! Will they just let her sit on my lap?

Also, the vehicles on Main Street would be fun, and a 9-month old would probably love to see the horses. The Mark Twain Riverboat would be a very enjoyable ride. If you go down on the lower level of the Hungry Bear Restaurant you'll usually find ducks, which are very fun for kids to feed. The rafts to Tom Sawyer Island could also be fun, though getting around on the Island could be a little tricky.

A baby that age will just have fun looking at flowers, water, birds, people, balloons, etc.

If you have a Park Hopper and can go into California Adventure, there are several rides in Flik's Fun Fair that would work too (maybe even the Muppets Show, if it's not too loud for the baby).

I'm not sure what's scheduled to be down for refurbishment that time of year, so you may want to check on that before you go.

Have fun!

On Main Street -
Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln (although this has some loud noises)
Disneyland Rail Road (sitting on your lap)
Any of the Main Street Vehicles (sitting on your lap)

Adventureland-
Tiki Room (lap)
Jungle Cruise (lap)
Tarzan's Treehouse (carry)

Fantasyland- I'm assuming you'd hold her, but not sure how it works on rides with a lap bar.

Alice (lap bar)
Dumbo (lap)
Casey Jr. (lap)
It's a Small World (lap)
Carousel (lap if you sit on a bench)
Mad Tea Party (lap)
Peter Pan, Mr. Toad, Snow White, Pinocchio (all lap bar)
Storybook Boats (lap)

Fronteirland

Mark Twain Steamboat (lap)
Columbia (lap)
Tom Sawyer's Island (carry)

New Orleans Square

Pirates of the Carribean (lap)
Haunted Mansion (lap bar)

Critter Country

Winnie the Pooh (lap bar)
Canoes (lap, but I wouldn't recommend paddling and holding a baby)

Toon Town

Mickey and Minnies House (carry)
Chip and Dale's Treehouse (carry)
Donald's Boat (carry)

Tomorrowland

Astro Orbitor (lapbar)
Honey, I Shrunk the Audience (lap, but loud noises)
Innoventions (carry)

Any that don't have a height restriction. We took ours on HM!

There is also some discussion about taking babies on rides in this thread (http://mousepad.mouseplanet.com/showthread.php?t=31230).

Yes, the baby will sit on your lap. On rides with a seat belt or lap bar, the baby will have to be under the restraint, too.

Two things to keep in mind, though, are volume...as in how loud the ride sound effects are...and jerkiness of the ride. For instance, my 9 month old would never enjoy Mr. Toad because parts of it do get loud, and the ride is very jerky. I also know my son won't enjoy Pinocchio because some parts are extremely loud. However, you obviously know your child the best, so go with it There are LOTS of rides you can share together. EandCDad's list is pretty comprehensive. Enjoy!

Do you think the haunted mansion would scare her or do you think she's too young to notice? Sorry - I'm a new mom, can you tell?

I think she'll be fine in HM. At 9-mos she may fall asleep in HM. (I have been known to nurse infants through HM because the timing was right. If it's feeding time, you might grab a bottle or plan to nurse.)

My kids haven't been aware enough to be afraid of rides until they're older- like 18-months to 2-years old. With babies I frequently put my hands over their ears anyway, and/or I'll hold them close and talk soothingly into their ears during the rides- any rides.

Yep, what adriennek says. Your baby won't know to be scared yet. Just keep your hands close to her ears in case the music or sound effects get too loud. Sometimes, the beat of the music will calm the baby down...it worked for my first one...haven't tried it on my second, but he's 9 months, too, so we can compare notes later!

Thank you so much moms! What a great idea AdrienneK- nurse on the dark rides! I'm sure my little one will be thrilled with all the lights, noises and kids running around. She may not even notice we're going on rides. Thanks so much for your help!

Thank you :D My boys have thought so. Pirates is a great nursing ride because it's 15 minutes. Small World is also a good one for its length. I don't like nursing on iasw because I want the babies to look at the dolls but more than once I've had a baby decide he wanted to nurse THEN. Disneyland Railroad is a great place for nursing because you can go around the park as many times as you want!

Here is my article (http://www.mouseplanet.com/akrock/ak010921.htm) that includes tips for feedings at Disneyland.

Just a note for Disneynerd in case she's not familiar with Pirates. There are two small drops on Pirates, so you might want to wait until after that to feed the baby or at least take a break during those drops.
