Euro Disney Eyes $180 Mln 'Tower of Terror' (http://www.reuters.com/newsArticle.jhtml?type=topNews&storyID=6057295)
Reuters - By Caroline Brothers
PARIS (Reuters) - Euro Disney wants to use part of a planned rights issue to build a gut-wrenching new "Tower of Terror" ride that could cost some 150 million euros ($182.2 million), sources familiar with the situation said.
The attraction, to be built at its second Paris theme park, would be similar to the Hollywood Tower Hotel attraction at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida.

While a Tower of Terror attraction would make a great addition to the Studios,it is not the solution to fixing the Resorts attendance problems. From all reports Tower of Terror has done nothing to save Disney's California Adventures attendance problems,so why would it do any differn't in Paris.I think the 2nd plan of three smaller attractions is a better idea for now,as WDS needs as many new attractions,as it can get. Also the main reason people avoid the place is more to do with lack of family attractions, then it is to do with big thrill rides.
This is absolutely no surprise - when I was there for the opening of the Studios, our media hosts made it very clear that Tower would be coming in the future. Heck, they even showed us where it was going to be built, and there is a small ToT logo on a nearby gate.
I do wish they would build more kid-friendly rides there, but it seems that Disney refuses to learn anything from DCA.

I'm pretty sure ToT will make a difference. Maybe not the same impact Space Mountain had on the Disneyland Park, but still...
I don't understand why people keep on comparing WDS with DCA??? Both are different parks in different countries. They both have different kind of problems.

They both have different kind of problems.I compare them because I've been to both, and I think they have quite a few similar challenges and problems - the two biggest are too many "film-based" attractions, not enough kid-friendly rides.
What do you preceive to be the problems with WDS, and how will ToT address those?

I have to agree,I too have been to both parks. And the problems are very similar.Even though WDS problems are a lot worst than DCA,as while DCA has never lived up to its projections, attendance wise, its still manages to pack in over 5 million guest a year, making it one of the most visited theme parks each year.Ok some people will argue that a lot of that 5+ million are Annual Passholders, however why are these Annual Passholders not filling up the studios, which is lucky to maybe pack 2 million in a year.During my stay at the Disneyland Resort in Paris I spoke to many family's who while they visited and loved the Disneyland Park, hardly spent anytime in the Studios due to lack of attraction for the kids.

I've been to both too, and DCA is way better than WDS, they're is just not much there at all. We had trouble filling a day in at WDS.
