I'm thinking about going this Sunday. Has anyone been or have any pointers. The socal resident special at 17.95 is the best deal i've found. anyone know of anything better?
Thanks in advance.

Carl's Jr's sometimes has discounts for Knotts Soak City. As for pointers...just get there early and stake out your chairs. Last time we went they had cabanas for rent for some ridiculous price for the entire day. You can also rent an innertube/floaty thing for the entire day so you don't have to wait for one. They don't allow any food or drink into the park so you may want to pack a lunch in a cooler and keep it in your car and have a little parking lot picnic. That's about all I have on the place. Have a great time!

I'm taking the kids tomorrow. It's my first time at a water park. How secure are the lockers? Is it better to leave your valuables (i.e. wallet, keys, etc.) in the car or are the lockers ok?

What's the situation with the changing rooms? I'll be a Dad with my 2 little girls and my son. Will it be ok to take them all with me inside the room?

Any other tips for a single parent with young ones?

We had a great time at the park today! Here are a few things I learned...

Lockers: There are 3 sizes, small. medium, large. Large is big enough to fit 2 backpacks and was a $6 rental (plus $4 returnable deposit) for the day. We were able to fit all of our junk in one. The locker rental stand is dead ahead after you enter the main gate.

Food: The famous Mrs. Knott's chicken meal is not worth $7.95. Either they use pigeons or the world's smallest chickens. You get 2 small pieces of fried chix (1 drumstick + 1 thigh, or 1 wing +1 breast piece), mashed potatoes (gravy if you want it), cole slaw, and a sliver of Mrs. Knott's boysenberry pie. They also have drumsticks for about $2.25 each, but they looked more like wing drummettes! Maybe we shoulda had the pizza.

Snack: The typical fare, churros, cinnabon, pretzels, cotton candy, etc.. Our best buy was spending less than 3 bucks for one package of cotton candy at the end of the day. The 4 of us only got thru half the package. Your mileage may vary, our kids aren't in the habit of eating a lot of sweets.

The Rides: The 10yr old was the only one eligible to ride the white knucklers, so we spent the day on the less thrilling rides. Still, we had plenty to do and had lots of fun! There is a "medium thrill" set of slides that our youngest was able to ride provided he had a lifevest on. Some rides allow kids between 42" and 48" tall to go on with a lifevest. The vests are provided free of charge and there are a couple of self-serve lifevest stands in the park.

Crowds: I didn't think the park was very crowded at all. Could be due in part to several of the local year-round schools being in session. We had about a 5-10 minute wait on the slides, not bad. The wave pool also was great fun and not that crowded either. The kids tried to enjoy the "Tykes" area, but be aware there is a max height limit for those little slides. I didn't realize it until one of the attendants blew the whistle at me. Which brings me to the next subject (or rant)...

The Attendants: Tweet, tweet. What is it with all those timid little peeps from the lifeguard whistles? It was really hard to know whose attention they were trying to get. Did I do something wrong? Oh, no, it was the kid over there. Then it was nearly impossible to understand their meek little mutterings about what it was you did wrong. They really should speak up and explain things better for someone who doesn't know what they're doing wrong. Anyway, next time I'll know better then to let my bigger kids go down the tykes slides.

That's all I can remember. Oh yeah, I took advantage of a coupon I got in the mail. Weekday admission: $14.95 adults, $12.95 children. All in all a good day. Don't know if it would be worth going back any time soon tho. I'd rather take the fam to the beach.
