I don't know if any of you are stock watchers, but Disney is at a very low price right now. It's available for less than $21 a share. Most experts would agree that Disney, when all is well, is at least a $30 stock. If anyone has money to play around with, this is a good opportunity. We all KNOW Disney isn't going out of business, so its a relatively safe investment. I got into Disney after 9/11. The stoick had dipped to something like $12, and I bought as much as I could. Within a year or so, I had nearly doubled my money. Not to mention, its kinda cool being part owner of the magic of Disney. And they send you the annual reports, which are very cool pieces of Disney memorabilia.

Don't get the wrong idea, I'm not a stock broker or anything. I'm the operations manager for a custom home builder. And of course, no investment is "safe". Just thought some of my fellow Disney freaks might want a piece of the action. Enjoy!

when I use to have the stock (sold it for a profit) I would get reports all the time and forms so I could submit votes on things. I had quite a few shares though. I'm not sure if that matters or not...

I want to buy some now but i also want to wait until Eisner is gone because i feel it will go down once he leaves but will then go up in the years following.

Do you actually hold the stock, or is it through a broker? If it's through the broker, many times the reports will be sent there, and you have to request it from the broker. I hold the stock certificates myself, and I get the annual reports and any other proxy ballots that there may be. They no longer send out the quarterly reports, but I can deal with that.

Yes. I too hold my shares through a broker (Schwab) and I've always gotten the annual report.

We do not use a broker...I do not remember exaxctly how we started but I am fairly sure we called the Disney Investment Services number.
It's odd but we do, on occasion, get a proxy vote letter but in the 10 years we have held stock, and reinvested our meager earings, we have recieved one Annual Report.

I discussed with our broker our desire to not only obtain the 2004 Annual Report but to get our proxy ballot so we could vote "withhold" on Michael Eisner as CEO and three other Board of Director members. We had purchased our stock in November on Mickey's 75th birthday and were highly motivated to show to the CEO and Board we felt Disney should go in another direction.

The next Annual Meeting of Disney Shareholders will probably be in March 2005. At that time, it's been said Roy Disney and Stanley Gold plan to introduce an alternative slate of officers for the company for shareholders to vote on. It takes actually owning stock in Disney to be able to participate in this process as well as to actually be admitted to the Shareholders' Meeting. There are many threads on Disney fansite discussion boards and definitely on Google or Yahoo! you can search for past articles about the resignation of Roy Disney from the Board of Disney November 30, 2003 and his efforts with Stanley Gold's since that time on up through March 3, 2004. Consider buying Disney stock carefully in light of the recent past, because it is up in the air how the next Shareholders' Meeting will go and how the future of Dsiney corporate leadership will play out until Michael Eisner's contract runs out in I believe it's 2006. If you buy Disney stock now, do it for sound investment principles and not to play politics. But to buy Disney stock now would enable anyone to engage in efforts that might affect the Disney company for years to come via voting at Stockholders' Meetings.

Just my 2-cents. Mileages, of course, can vary.
