I've driven down Hwy 5 five times this summer and I always check to see what rides are running at MM. But I have never seen the Superman ride in motion. Is this ride closed??

10 seconds of ride, 3 minutes of loading and unloading. Odds are low that you'd see it running.
(Times are estimates.)

It's currently under a long, long rehab. I can't remember the last time it was actually open. I wouldn't expect it to re-open until 05, possibly. It probably needs to be completely retrofitted with a new launch mechanism, or maybe a vendor like Premier can come in and make the LIM launch system more reliable and less prone to break down.

Thanks DBJ. Thought it had to be something like that.

Somehow, despite the fact that there is a perfectly reliably working clone in Austrailia, SFMM is still having issues with the ride 9 years after construction. I don't get it.

So the answer is, it's not open, and probably won't be this year.

Little update, Superman has begun testing once again. That's no guarantee it will open soon, but the work is continuing.

Any other rides there not running? Cheers.

It changes daily, but Flashback is SBNO. Deja Vu had a bit of trouble this summer, but it seems ironed out. X is touch and go, but it's been open the last few times I've been there. I think they may have turned the corner with X. It will never be the capacity monster it was supposed to be, 1600 pph, but at least it works.

OK, I give up-SBNO? (Even checked the acronym list).
Bummer my kid has to miss 5 coasters at 52", but since we can get in free with our Marine World passes, seemed silly to drive by and not stop. Thanks for the response. Cheers.

SBNO= Standing but not operating.

Another website states that Superman has opened the past couple of days, with some sort of new restraint. Very slow operation, though.

Thanks, and good to know Superman may be running, the boy's been looking forward to that one. Cheers.
