You might want to take a look at a previous thread in this forum, called "The Mummy: A thrilling new ride (http://mousepad.mouseplanet.com/showthread.php?t=28850)." There were quite a few folks who went on the ride in late-June who posted reviews in that thread.

Thank you, I will. The truly sad part.... I read down the thread titles looking and didn't see it.....

Yes, yes I am still a spaz...

No problem! Because it was posted over a month ago, your default "view posts from the last month" setting probably didn't show it.

OK, the other thread kind of poopooed it! but like everything else I'm guess i'm just going to have to go check it out myself. At least I know I still love the "Jaws Attack" during the back lot tour.... if nothing else... I have that...

Had my first visit to USH on Tuesday, and I must say, the biggest complaint with the Mummy is the length of the ride. The waiting area is awesome, and the movie props are cool, but the ride is over before you know it. And it didn't really make any sense to me...you see Imotep right before it takes off, you coaster for what seems like 20 seconds, and then again in reverse, the room catches fire and you are back at the loading area.

Glad I rode it, but don't need to ride it again.

well the room really doesnt "catch fire" more like poor smoke effects with orange lights behind them.

that portion of the ride really dissapointed me. that was their big advertisement while building the ride, a finale where the audience is engulfed in a fire room before escaping. very very poor finale and let a lot of people down. i dont understand why they couldnt have built a slightly bigger finale set and used the technology from backdraft? in that attraction the guests are far enough away from harm yet they feel like they are right in the fire. why not do the same in mummy?

I rode the Mummy at USH and found it to be a let down. After seeing the adds for weeks I was expecting more. The ride was just too short.

Revenge of the Mummy
Okay, this one wasn't a second chance for me, but for TPI, as Robert gave the official TPI review (http://www.themeparkinsider.com/columns/robert/32.cfm) after it opened. He said the coaster produced "a level of technical sophistication not previously seen in Southern California." He ain't kidding.

Still, that weird ending does not take away from it being a fantastic ride. I rode it four times and would have ridden it a few more later in the day, had I stayed long enough. Yeah, it's too short. Yeah, the storyline falls apart. But it is still the best indoor coaster I have ever been on, and that deserves praise. On the TPI scale, I give it a whopping 9 - Outstanding.

I went on the ride three days after it opened. It was a mind bender.

Couldn't agree more.Revenge of the Mummy was a big let-down.The special FX were OK (nothing that great) and the story was all over the place,it ust didnt make much sense at all.The ride pretty much sucks and I usually like Universal stuff but this thing is lame.

2 thumbs down. :| Disney's Tower of Terror and/or Atlantis at Seaworld are both better then Mummy.

personally, i prefer mummy over tot. Tot is fun, but gets kinda boring. Freefall rides, no matter how themed, get boring after a while. nothing beats a rollercoaster in my opinion.

the mummy ride sucks really really really bad, I think i rather sit through a full three hours of Disney's LIzze Maguire then ride the mummy again. The first three show rooms were really good but then you get launched into the coaster part of it and it just was a huge let down. I mean the whole time we were zipping by it reminded me of Vegas because all of the "MUMMYS" insided the ride that were suppose to "CHASE YOU" were infact nothing more then air brushed paintings illuminated by a black light. That kinda looked like a Neon sign, and to top it off anit nothing more scary then a huge hot pink neon sign mummy.... OHH SCARYY ANIT IT. After i got off the ride i looked at my gf and wondered "that can't be it" and she looked at me and was like "Yup thats it the huge pink mummy is going to get us lets get outa here" That ride is nothing more then a waste I went on it twice back in June for the Preview and then they didn't even have their Yellow lines down on the floor for safety. And then it sucked even though then it was just a technical preview. So when i went again last weekend i figured "OH why the hell and give it another chance" i bascialy wanted to prove myself wrong that maybe they fixed it or done something better with the inside. NOPE i was dupped again, the only thing they added was three more of those lighted neon sign mummy cut outs. WOW SCARY. but you get the point. its not worth the wait i had more fun going on the Studio Tour like five times. The mummy ride is a huge joke why did they get rid of E.T. whyyyy

The Mummy ride reminded me of a faster wannabe of Indiana Jones at DL. The Mummy was so short, yet had some of the Indy-type effects and color scheme and was faster with more rollercoaster-like turns. It'd say overall, the mummy was cool, but too short. I'd take Indy over it any day.
