Was just wondering if anyone has been to 6FGA lately and what did you think about it?

I went last Friday but want to hear from others first about their experiences before I chime in.

Thanks for your time.

I haven't been to Six Flags Great America for around 12 years or so, but I worked at the park for 3 summers in the mid-80s and have some very fond memories of the place. I'll be really curious to read what more recent guests have to say about it here.

Well, the reason I was asking was that I did not have the greatest experience there last week and wanted to hear others' views on the park. I havent been there in about 10 years myself but found issues with:

- The place had a general "smell" about it. (Sometimes a strong smell of garbage.)
- Bathrooms were in real bad shape. Filthy.
- Employees were generally unfriendly and not too helpful.
- Food prices were WAY too high. (I will never complain about Disney prices again.)
- Some of the coasters are not designed for a "larger" person. Heck, I think that if you were not 5'5" and 150 lbs, you would have a problem with some of them.

Being that it was the peak of the season, sure it was crowded, so that was to be expected. But, boy, I think some parents really needed to control their kids.

But the weather was real good and they did control the parking situation real well too. (Incoming and outgoing.)

I really dont mean to rip on the place, but I guess I had some higher expectations.

Are the other Six Flags parks the same way?

The main thing was that my kids had a great time.... That is what really mattered to me.
