Well, last night was a big celebration at Buffalo Bill's in Primm, Nevada... they celebrated their 10th anniversary... Alas, Hootie and the Blowfish were in concert Saturday Night, but I didn't get that invite, but I did get the official celebration ticket for Sunday...... I got the chance to ride Desparado in it's second week of operation, and at that time it was the World tallest and faster coaster, what a great ride, awesome first drop, followed by some great segments, including a lot of air time...

Anyways, one of the the highlights of the evening was a fireworks show... It started off with the Desparado, and fireworks on the lift hill, which was neat, as they got higher and higher, all the while, a train was going up the hill, when the train got to the top of the hill, they lit some "sparklers" attached to the back of the train, and that was really neat, to see the train make its drop with the fireworks going off behind it, then going along the circuit....

Then the fireworks switched to the south of the hotel (They set up seating in the parking lot....... and had a DJ for the before and after crowd)..... Too Bad they didn't have Air Conditioning... it was about 115 degrees at midday out here..... And when I got up this morning, and looked out my window, a group of people were sitting in the Jacuzzi, but only 1 person was in the Pool... what is up with that???? And you should seen the insaneness dealing with the Ice Machines in the Hotel... folks going floor to floor trying to find ice, people on the elevator giving hints as to which floor's machines actually had ice (Heck, the best answer, kiss up to the bartender near the elevators and get a full bucket....:p

Back to the fireworks, they had set up three close-up launch sites, plus the higher up work in the back..... for 15 minutes, what a great show...... At least 4 times the amount of fireworks you see at Disneyland... and the Finale was just AWESOME!!!! Not as good as the LA Galaxy show on July 4th, but still a HECK of a lot of fireworks going off at the same time, and for a good couple of minutes....

Well, time to go ride the Desparado, plus the log flume ride and Turbo Drop......

Alas, I am on dial-up..but I got some great shots of Calico Ghost Town including the Mystery Shack.... Photos of the Las Vegas Monorail and other Vegas stuff coming up soon....:fez:

I've always wanted to ride that. How much are they charging these days?

I think it is now $5 for a ride, or $30 for a unlimited ride wristband, which allows you multiple rides, plus the other attractions, like Turbo Drop, the Log Flume, etc... (Sorry, I got a comp wristband....)

By the way, here is a photo...

That is such a fun coaster; we only got a rental car for a couple of days when in Vegas for a week, mainly to drive down to Primm. Well worth it. Cheers.
