OK, I better start this with a disclaimer. I don't know Al Lutz, never met the guy. I do very much appreciate all the work he obviously puts into his column, and all the info he digs up.

But man, that guy can find a negative aspect to anything!

I was particularily amused by the recent update, where he grumbled that all the pyro from IlluminAria might cause a lot of nasty smoke!!! :rolleyes: DUH!!!

Wouldn't let it go, either... he mentioned it more than once. Something about how Avalon Cove patrons should be prepared to enjoy everything smoked! LOL!

Heehee. I guess it's partly these quirks that keep his column interesting.

Al does, sometimes, go overboard; for example, his concerns over Monsters Inc. not being a hit (we'll see if the second weekend grosses bear him out) and his criticism of the "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire--Play It!" set at DCA (a wee bit harsh there, I thought).

He's often on the money, though, and I enjoy his column. I could see where smoke might be a concern at DCA's "Illuminaria." Epcot uses similar pyrotechnics for "Illuminations," and smoke doesn't seem to be a problem there--possibly because the Showcase Lagoon is so big (much larger than Paradise Bay at DCA). Time will tell.

Yeah, I'm not saying he's wrong.

I just get a kick out of his eternal grumpiness!
