View Full Version : Mythos? good? iluvdiznee 07-02-2004, 04:52 PM First time going to US and IOA. Someone told me about a restaurant called Mythos..or something close to that name. Is it good and where is it located? :D Wfoxx 07-05-2004, 07:44 AM Its ok if you like nouvell cuisine. Which if you ask my hubby means little food and costs too much money for what you get. If you are gong with kids skip it, there is nothing on the menu. I really liked the mango cheesecake, but it wasn't worth the money we spent there. I enjoyed the restaraunt by dueling dragons better (oak tree tavern). iluvdiznee 07-05-2004, 02:10 PM thanks thanks thanks,,,,that is exactly the advice I am looking for. I have a son 14 and a daughter 10, so I need to find "their" kind of food at a reasonable price. Quantity of course for my hubby and myself...lol Thanks for the advice... efoxx 07-05-2004, 04:53 PM Just thought I'd throw my two cents in (I'm mr. Wfoxx ;) ) Mythos as pointed out by my DW is small on portions, and big on price. Wfoxx and I spent about $70 for two of us. also depending on when you go you may find the hours inconvenient. during the off season they are closed monday- thurs. and close early on friday and sat. it's a shame really, the place looks really cool. I agree that the Oak tree tavern is a good choice. located right across from the entrance to dueling dragons it has a really cool atmosphere inside an old tree. they serve BBQ, none table service. but the food is good, and plenty of it. we found a similar menu over at thunder falls, but we found the atmosphere not as pleasant. for a more diverse menu you may wish to try comic strip cafe. kind of a food court with italian, mexican, chinese, and american choices. prices are reasonable and food is more then adaquate. it's location makes it fairly quiet in the afternoons/ evenings. BTW the best place for burgers at US/IOA is over at the studios. it's called mel's, and like it's name implies it is a replica of the drive in from american graffiti, only without the car hops. still it is a fun place to eat. have fun iluvdiznee 07-05-2004, 07:55 PM Thanks for the wonderful advice on the places to eat. It seems we have the same taste in food, and quantity does come into the picture. I will let you know how it goes, cant believe we are leaving in 2days,,,,ugh so much to do and pack. Thanks again... :D thevolcanogod 07-06-2004, 10:22 AM If you happen to go to Mythos, please report back what you find. It is annoying that inside of the actual Universal Parks, the table service offerings are few and far between. We are looking at Mythos for our trip in August - both of us loving good cuisine and not being much for the hamburger joints etc. I've eaten at that BBQ place on a previous trip - OK, but I can do better BBQ myself so I wasn't impressed. |
