View Full Version : How old are your kids?
Hi Everyone--
This might belong in the lounge-- if it does, I'm sorry
Anyway, I'm really enjoying the Parenting In the Parks section! I'm having a great time reading all your posts, and since I'm new here, I was just wondering-- how old are all your kids?
My husband Steve and I have two girls. Annabelle is 4 and Katy is 10mos. I want one more, but I think I'm going to have trouble convincing my hubby. Maybe his desire for a son will win out on this one. :)
Anyway, I'm loving all your posts, I was just curious about your kids! Some of you have beautiful pictures up of them!
adriennek 06-24-2004, 10:48 PM M is 5.5 y/o (First trip to DLR, 19 days old.)
S is 3 y/o (First trip to DLR, 17 days old.)
C is 8 weeks, 2 days :D (First trip to DLR, 40 days old. I feel like I should turn myself in...)
Three boys and I love them to pieces.

dsnyredhead 06-24-2004, 10:51 PM Andy is seven months old.
Wendi 06-24-2004, 11:18 PM Max is 2.5, his first trip was at 8 months. His next trip was during his first Birthday... we haven't been back since, but we're going again in November... I can't wait!!!
MouseWife 06-24-2004, 11:49 PM My chickie is 18 1/2 {first visit when she was 4}
The Dude is 16 1/2 {first visit when he was 2}
and my Boy is 10. First visit when he was 8 months.
We could not wait to take him. His next visit was in about 5 months and then we went every six months, just about, for a few years. Now only once a year.
Big Christmas treat.
I agree. Some wonderful shots of the kids.
CatLover 06-25-2004, 03:21 AM I have one son, Michael, age 6. He went for the first time when he was 3.
disnut8 06-25-2004, 03:53 AM My only child is Chris, age 22. His first visit to Disney World was when he was three and he's been there numerous times since then. But he was smart enough to marry a wonderful woman and her equally, if not even more, wonderful daughter. Marlie is now 6 and we took her to Disney World last year for the first time (her mother's first time as well).
aalexander 06-25-2004, 06:48 AM My little one is now 15 months old. He has been to WDW "offically" once in January 04 at 10 months, but he also made a visit in Nov 02 in mommy's belly. We're planning our next visit for Dec 05. I'm sure I'll have lots of questions about Christmas at the parks, a first for everyone in our group.
Bill Catherall 06-25-2004, 12:14 PM #1: Boy, 7 (turns 8 in July)
#2: Girl, 5 (turns 6 in Sept)
#3: Boy, 2 (just turned 2 this month and is surprising us with a sudden interest in potty training!)
All of the above had their first visits to Disneyland at very very young ages. I think the earliest was when we took #1 to Disney World at only 3 weeks old. The other 2 were a few months old for their first visits.
They all love Disneyland. Last night I was watching the Tomorrowland DVD with my oldest and pointing out how Tomorrowland and Fantasyland used to look. During our last visit we were up on the Monorail platform and he noticed the empty lagoon down below and that really peaked his interest in "Tomorrowland of the past." He also noticed the ride posters in Red Rockets and shouted out, "I didn't know Disneyland used to have a Skyway!"
My favorite comment from him last night was when he said, "I bet Grandpa has ridden the submarines and motor boats." Errr...I've ridden the submarines and motor boats!
GadgetRick 06-25-2004, 01:21 PM He's 18 months. Was there his first time in utero. He'll have his first out of utero experience for his 2nd b-day.
Tinker Bell 06-25-2004, 02:17 PM I have four kids.
A is 8 1/2 yrs (went @ 6 yr)
J is 6 yrs ( went @ 4 yr)
B is 4 1/2 ( went @ 2)
S is 2 yrs ( went @ 20 days)
lisap 06-25-2004, 02:41 PM Annabelle is 4 and Katy is 10mos.
Hey! My little niece is named Annabelle and she is two and a half. She was at my house just this morning turning my daughter's room upside down  ;).
I have two gals--Emma (to the left of my avatar) who is turning ten in August, and Charlotte (on the right, of course) who is seven. Emma didn't visit DL until she was around seven months old--I have pictures of her crawling around the Gallery at NOS. Charlotte visited DL at three weeks--her first ride was the Jungle Cruise. After that, she mostly visited the bench in front of the Baby Care Center with mommy.
They have both grown up thinking that it is perfectly normal to visit Disneyland at least once a month. Spoiled brats. ;)
AdrienneQW 06-25-2004, 03:36 PM Dexter turned two in February and went to DL for the first time on May 1st. We loved it so much I got an annual pass, even though I thought we lived too far away (LAX area). But, I have found it makes a wonderful half-day outing for us... like today, when we were at the park by 8:15am and home for a nap by 1pm.
Now Dexter is allllllllll about Disneyland... if you ask him "What do you like?" at any time on any day, he will launch into a litany of his favorite DL experiences: "Desser like it Dumbo! Desser like it tram! Desser like it teacups-round-and-round! Desser like it choo-choo! Desser like it boat-small-world-song!" :)

Another Adrienne with ties to that part of town.... if your zip is 90045 it's just spookier.... You don't have to identify in a public post, that's fine. It's just spooooky ;)

Wow, that is spooky... we couldn't get closer without living in that zip, as a matter of fact! We're in Playa del Rey, not two blocks from the Westchester line (Manchester x Falmouth).
And yes, lots of Adriennes around here - I'm just glad y'all spell it correctly. ;)
biolabetty 06-25-2004, 11:59 PM We have 4 kids, ages 18, 16, 5 and 3 (in home babysitters are great!) We took the older 2 to Disneyland and told them that they were expecting another sibling while eating at the Blue Bayou. It was such a special way to let them know and they were truly excited about new little people in our home. They love showing their younger brother and sister the things that they have always enjoyed at Disneyland, and are learning to re-appreciate some of the things that they had considered themselves too old for.

Thank you. :)
Were you named for JA's Emma as well?
Thank you. :)
Were you named for JA's Emma as well?
I wish! It would be more romantic that way.. :) No, I was named after my grandmother.
adriennek 06-26-2004, 10:09 AM If any of my boys had been a girl, he would've been Emma. In fact, some people who think they're hysterical still call Matthew Emma. Fortunately, we don't see those people very often anymore.
Emma Christine (M)
Emma Katherine (S)
or
Emma Frances (C)
Not JA, so I guess it's not romantic ;) Just that I really loved the name (classic and classy) and when I was expecting M there were lots of Emily's around, but fewer Emma's. Then it started getting popular and Rachel named her child Emma and I was so mad I could spit.
It's a lovely name. I have a great-grandmother who was Emma, but that was more an added bonus than the driving factor.

dsnylndmom 06-26-2004, 01:41 PM I half 2 1/2 ;)
I have a little brother who's 13(14 in Dec)and he's with us ALOT and has went on almost all of our DL trips(I think all but 2)His first trip was with us at 5 years old
My boys
Kyler 9 (10 in Spt)went at 18mths the first time
Shawn 5 (6 in Nov)went at 12 mths 1 week :D the first time(he was also there in "da tummy" when I was 5 mths pg)
They LOVE it and are DL purists. As much as they enjoyed their first trip to WDW last Aug. they were both pointing out the differences between the two(DL vs MK)and both said they prefer visiting DL! My oldest is soo into DL history/trivia, he absorbs it! He did a great report on Walt Disney this year and his teacher said his report was the best, most detailed report on Walt Disney she's had :D proud mama moment. My youngest's a "hidden mickey" fiend, he loves looking for them!
