Hi Everyone--

Quick question regarding strollers-- My husband and I have decided to rent a stroller at Disneyland this year, instead of bringing our own. I have two questions:
How much does it cost per day?

And if we go back and forth between the two parks during the day, do we need to return our stroller each time? I'm assuming you can't take it out of the park. Are you charged at each park, or is the stroller free in the second park? Wow.. that paragraph is really confusing. I hope you guys can figure out my question. :)

Hi Emma~I think the price for renting the stroller is around $7.00/day. I think that they recently have changed their policy to letting you take your rented stroller between parks but you are not allowed to take it into the Downtown Disney area. I'm sure someone will be on to correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure that is the policy. Have a fun trip!

You can't take the strollers out of the park, but you can "transfer" your rental so you can park hop without having to pay for a new rental in each park. You just take the card with your name on it out of the stroller pocket and use it to get another stroller at the other park. You may have to also show your receipt, so hold on to that.

Actually, Disneynut is correct on this one. Since they moved the bag checks to the entry points to the esplanade, they have been allowing rented strollers and wheelchairs to be taken between the parks. The bag check staff watches to make sure that they aren't taken outside the esplanade.

D'oh. I haven't rented a stroller since the security checkpoint change. And I misunderstood what Disneynut wrote about the policy. I thought I was backing him/her up. That's what happens when you're being called to dinner and you're reading/posting too fast.

is it hard to get a stroller on buisy days? we plan on going in August and do not want to get stuck with out one, is this possible? will they likely run out before we have a chance to get one?

Oh, that's completely awesome! Thank you everyone, for your help! :)

One more thing-- do they rent out double strollers, or will my husband and I each need to push one, if we won't them for both kids?

You'll need two singles. No doubles.

We came across an alternative to renting strollers at the parks. When we made our first trip to WDW I would have never thought of renting a stroller except at the parks and never knew that rental places for children’s products existed. We have since moved to Orlando, and have found that there are a handful of other companies that rent strollers to guests of hotels and resorts. The strollers are priced less than the park’s, much more comfortable than the hard plastic ones, no waiting in lines to get them, and you have them for shopping, dining, etc. They also have more than strollers, they have high chairs, infant swings, exersaucers, walkie talkies and PS2’s. Items are delivered and picked up at your hotel. I know of 3 or 4 companies that do this in the Orlando area, one of them has a web site www.familyrentalsorlando.com or look in the yellow pages under rental equipment. Don't know if DL has the same type of set-up but it’s worth looking into as the prices are cheaper than renting at the parks :)

The price is $8 per day or 2 strollers for $14...all you have to do is show your receipt if you change parks.

Actually, I don't think you need to do that anymore. You used to have to do that because you couldn't take a rented stroller outside of each park gate, so you'd have to leave your stroller at the park you were leaving and get another one at the park you were going to. Now that you can take rented strollers and wheelchairs between Disneyland and DCA, that's no longer a problem.

I haven't seen them run out but I can tell you that the lines are painfully long so get there as early as possible. If you are arriving at the park closer to DCA opening, rent your stroller there and then go to DL. This past March I waited over 45 minutes in line for a stroller at DL.

Here's a link to a company that provides baby equipment for rent in the Orange County, CA area (i.e., strollers, exersaucers, cribs):

http://www.ocbabysaway.com/

I don't know how the prices are, but it might be a convenient option for those families traveling from out of state or SoCal and don't want to bring everything and the kitchen sink with them.

HTH!
