Does anyone know who drew Beany and Cecil and who owns the rights to them?

You can learn all about it at Bob Clampett's official Web site (http://www.bobclampett.com/home.htm). Enjoy!!

"I'm comin' Beany Boy!!!"

I loved the Puppet Show first and then the comics. The t.v. toons never lived up to the hand puppets though!
Beany was done by my old late friend Daws Butler who recreated the beany Voice for Elroy of the Jetsons.
Boy did I love this show!
Thanks for reminding me!

Thanks for the great info! Do they still run the cartoons on any channels or are they archived somewhere?

It says that The Ren & Stimpy Show was created by Bob Clampett’s protégé John Kricfalusi. Now I have to go back and watch a couple of their episodes to see if there is a thread.

If you guys are big fans of "Beany and Cecil," then you must own or run out and buy the "Bob Clampett's Beany and Cecil: The Special Edition" DVD from Image Entertainment. It's available through most online stores, but here's Image's rundown (http://206.83.1.5/imagesite/product.asp?ProductFormat=DVD&ProductID=719) on the disc.

There is a ton of great stuff on it from the old live shows (including an audio commentary track by Bob Clampett, Stan Freburg and Walker Edmiston) to several of the cartoons. Absolutely great stuff. The cartoon "Beanyland" alone is a reason to pick this disc up.

Anyways, hope this helps.
