Disney offers olive branch to smooth over row with Pixar (http://business.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,9071-1147443,00.html) - Times Online (UK) 6/16/04

In the staring contest between Pixar and Disney, Disney has blinked again.
Bob Iger, the president and chief operating officer of Disney, told The Times that the media conglomerate would like to continue distributing films for Pixar when an existing deal, which has generated more than $2.5 billion (£1.4 billion) in box office receipts, ends next year.

[....]

“The door is certainly open, from our perspective,” Mr Iger said. “It has been a very successful relationship between Disney and Pixar, and I think it would be better for us to be partners than apart.”

I think the talking begins only after Eisner is gone.

Disney is offering more than just one branch. This article shows that Disney is softening up Steve Jobs by helping Apple:

I think the talking begins only after Eisner is gone.

While there is clearly are some personal conflicts between Jobs and Eisner, both are also smart enough business people to put them aside if that ultimately turns out to be the right thing to do. If Jobs looks at which direction the winds are blowing and finds that Eisner doesn't appear to be going anywhere soon while Pixar isn't getting better offers from other studios, those negotiations will open back up. In fact, several of the recent reports on the topic seem to be suggesting that could already be happening.

And part of the fun is watching Eisner sweat. If he actually does.

Pigs dont sweat.
What about "sweathogs"? Wasn't it Eisner who green lit the series "Welcome Back Kotter" when he was working for the network he now owns?
