Hi Everyone!

Great topic!! I lost 22 lbs of baby fat last summer, and I'm still working on the rest of it!

-Sweet Orange or Yellow Peppers

-Anything with high water content, mainly fruits... Watermelon, Grapes, etc... they make you feel more "full" faster.

-sugar/fat free JELLO!!!!

-And I know this is weird, but I like Banana Baby Food... It has very few calories, and it makes a good snack when you're hungry.

While we're on the subject here, does anybody have any good ideas for healthy, low fat dinners? I am always struggling with ideas for this...

Thanks!

I am always struggling with ideas for this...My best purchase recently has been one of those skillets with the ridges so you can cook with grill marks. Instead of baking, I grill meat and veggies on it now.

Typical dinner: Grilled salmon with a touch of mayo (cooked on; the oil from the mayo serves to flavor and oil the fish) with dill, with a side of grilled asparagus, and maybe a small salad. I can do the same with chicken breasts or thighs. Yum.

Lani--

When you grill the asparagus, do you put some sort of sauce or seasoning on it?

Thanks for the great idea! I think I'm going to try that. I got one of those George Foreman grills for Christmas, and it's still in the box on top of my kitchen cabinet. You know, with all the effort I've been putting into low fat meals lately, I hadn't even thought of salmon, and I love it!

Now I just hope I can get my dear sweet hubby to eat it! (He's so picky)

Thanks again.

I've been cooking this one for years-family loves it. I love that I don't have to turn on the oven when my kitchen is already 95 degrees ;)

Boiled dinner: serves 4

Place about an inch of water in a stock pot.
Place(in order): small head of cabbage-quartered; 4-6 carrots-cut into chunks; 2-3 medium onions-cut into chunks; 5-7 medium red potatoes-quartered. Place on top 16oz. turkey or low-fat polska kielbasa. Bring to a boil. Cover. Simmer until potatoes and carrots are tender-about 35-40 minutes. Amount of ingredients can be adjusted to suit your family's tastes.

Hi! My suggestion is to just search the net. Google low fat recipes/healthy recipes, things like that. I prefer allrecipes.com, and just search around for what I want. None of our meals are over 10g/fat, usually falling below that mark. Chicken/fish/turkey sausage (good substitute for normal sausage and ground meat when making spaghetti or jambalaya). Looking around and experimenting is the fun way to go, and you'll be amazed at how much you'll learn!

Thanks Everyone for the great ideas! Lani, I tried your salmon tonight and it was very good! Those George Foreman grills are amazing! I was a little apprehensive about the mayonaise, but it was very tasty! Thanks for the tip. :)

My favorite lunch!

Into a blender goes:

1/2 banana
1 cup frozen blueberries (works better than fresh)
4 oz. plain, vanilla, banilla, or banana yogurt
8 oz. skim or 1% milk
3 T wheat germ
