I know the simple answer is the Apple Store, however CompUSA and Best Buy are now selling Apple Products. I'm leaning towards a new iPod and was mostly curious if there is any reason to go to the Apple Store instead of CompUSA or Best Buy.
Thoughts?

Service and product knowledge.

Prices are the same everywhere, so you might as well go to the Apple Store. They look cooler  :fez:

What looks cooler?
If prices are the same everywhere, and I know what I'm buying why not go somewhere closer? I guess thats the real question.

I think Target sells iPods too. I agree with GD. Going to the Apple Store the salespeople should provide a better level of service and product knowledge. If you're not absolutely certain you know what you want, or would like to ask some questions about Type X vs. Y, you should definitely go to the Apple Store since as DisneyFan said, the prices are the same. I'm hoping to get an iPod this year too, but I need a new computer first!

The Apple store itself looks cooler. Plus you get all the techie support junk everyone else is talking about :fez:

Steph I think you're right about Target, and I'm going to look today when I go.
I have 1st Generation iPod for Windows, the port where the headphones go broke so I can't use iTrip or any other thing with it (it doesn't connect).
I have yet to be impressed by the Apple Genius support or their phone support.
Another reason to go to the Apple Store is their education discount on Apple products.

Another reason to go to the Apple Store is their education discount on Apple products. I had forgotten about that. I got a discounted Mac when I was in school from my book store since it was an "Apple-centric" campus. What kind of discounts do they give?

I think it's 10% but it is only on Apple brand products.
