Now that there's a new server beacoup bandwidth and paid subscribers, can we get spell check back? Mine's attrocious.

Also, how about relaxing the image post restrictions a bit, allow larger pics or more per post - Hey it's a brave new World on MousePlanet.

I would like to know why the maximum file size for an avatar is 19.5kb instead of 25kb like before ?

I definitely vote for them not relaxing those restrictions. The problems with large photos or large quantities of photos are really for those having to slog through them while reading the boards. Since in-message photos aren't stored on MP's servers, I doubt that server capacity was much of an issue.

If there is now a way to easily integrate a free (or reasonably cheap) spell check into things, I would definitely support doing so. We'll discuss.

I'll also rebroach the subject of image guidelines, but I don't foresee them changing. As Jeff said, bandwidth is not an issue on those. It is more an appearance issue. Since you have to host them offsite anyway, I don't really see why it is any particular hassle to provide links and let people view them if they want. As you saw from the subscriber's thread, people want the ability to turn off as many pictures as they can.

zapppop, if the maximum allowed image size changed, I was not aware of it. I'll look into having it restored.

Never mind, I was posting at the same time as Alex.

There isn't a spell check capability in vB 3. There are apparently some challenges with trying to get something working with the WYSIWYG editors (most spell check systems choke on that).

In the interim, there is an alternative available at http://www.iespell.com/. It integrates with Internet Explorer and gives you a spell check ability - not just for MousePad, but any other site you might visit as well.

As soon as something viable becomes available, I'll definately be integrating it.

Could someone offer some suggestions on how to get that to work? I have a new icon on my toolbar that when I press it, tells me "Spell Check is Complete" even if the selected text has obvious errors.

I just had the same problem. You have to use the simple text editor or the standard editor, not the WYSIWYG one, for it to work.
