Paramount's Great America Newsletter #6: 05-22-04
2004 VIP Pass Prices Go Up June 1st
This month is the last chance to purchase a value-added VIP Pass from Paramount’s Great America at the discounted rate. VIP Passholder perks include: free parking at PGA, discounts on food, merchandise and concerts, and unlimited access to three parks for the price of one. During Park operating hours, VIP Passholders have free access to PGA, the all-new Crocodile Dundee’s Boomerang Bay Water Park (http://www.parkfeedback.com/news/link.aspx?link=http://www.pgathrills.com/attractions_water.jsp&QTE=2237264&QIS=33), and Bonfante Gardens (http://www.parkfeedback.com/news/link.aspx?link=http://www.bonfantegardens.com/&QTE=2237264&QIS=33), a separate 30-acre Park combining four unique gardens and 19 amusement rides with the mid-20th century history and agricultural roots of Santa Clara Valley.
Having unlimited access to PGA until it closes in October will be especially valuable this year given the Park's numerous scheduled special events including Madame Tussaud’s Tribute to the Heroes of 9/11 (http://www.parkfeedback.com/news/link.aspx?link=http://www.pgathrills.com/events.jsp&QTE=2237264&QIS=33), the Memorial Day Fireworks and Paramount’s Magic of the Movies (http://www.parkfeedback.com/news/link.aspx?link=http://www.pgathrills.com/attractions_shows.jsp&QTE=2237264&QIS=33), opening June 19th. Nature-loving Passholders will enjoy unlimited access to Bonfante Gardens. Their brand new Wild Bird Adventure™ attraction, pictured right, brings guests face-to-face with cockatiels, grass parakeets, rosellas and zebra finches inside a 1,500 square-foot aviary. Bird watchers are invited to feed the animals with seed sticks as they learn about bird habitats and behaviors from volunteer docents.
A valuable feature of the VIP Pass is the 20% discount offered at select food and merchandise locations inside Paramount's Great America. Mick’s Seaside Supplies, Venus MARS, Girl Space™, Scooby-Doo™ Just For You, and The Nickelodeon Store® all offer this discount (excluding film/camera and sale items). To receive the 20% food discount, VIP Passholders dine at American Café, Maggie Brown’s, Nicktoons™ Café, and Dundee’s Outback Shack.
For VIP Passholders who travel, free admission to the other four Paramount Parks (http://www.parkfeedback.com/news/link.aspx?link=www.paramountparks.com&QTE=2237264&QIS=33) scattered across North America is an attractive perk. Entry to the Parks is free, but all VIP Pass perks are exclusive to PGA. VIP Passes are still available at a discounted price online and at the Park before May 31st. Note: The Family VIP Pass is the best value around for a full season of fun at Paramount's Great America. You must purchase 4 or more passes to save $10 per person at the reduced price. Click here (http://www.parkfeedback.com/news/link.aspx?link=http://www.pgathrills.com/tickets_season_pass.jsp&QTE=2237264&QIS=33) for more VIP Pass information.

Your Favorite PGA Souvenirs
In our last issue, we asked you to tell us what you thought about shopping at Paramount’s Great America. We wanted your honest opinions on the best Park souvenirs, what you wish we sold, and what’s been your favorite take home item. And you had plenty to say!
More than half of you who answered our survey always find something in the Park to remember the day by. Many of you save your ticket stub, find hip Quicksilver or Spitfire clothes in Venus MARS, or discover trinkets at Inside PGA, the Park’s largest souvenir shop located just inside the Park's main entrance. With 43% of the vote, you told us pictures of family and friends make the most memorable souvenirs. Photos are taken at the Front Gate, at Golden Oldies in All American Plaza and on Logger's Run and Psycho Mouse.
For Ms. Wilson from Colusa, CA, the most memorable souvenir she owns is an air-brushed t-shirt her boyfriend designed and had made for her in the Park. It’s a favorite in her wardrobe and came from Under Pressure in County Fair. The last time Jody G. from San Jose, CA, came to the Park, her fiancée couldn’t make it. But that didn’t stop Jody from including him in the day’s festivities. She had a photo of him on her keychain and the caricature artist was able to draw him into the picture.
“For me,” wrote Fran S. of Pleasanton, CA, “I’m always glad to see the variety of swim wear and water stuff. And of course, the kids love shopping in the Park!” Diana D. of San Jose, CA, agrees, writing “toward the end of the day, I always buy a towel, flip flops and a t-shirt for my daughter so she can run around in the Nickelodeon area and get wet. That way, all I have to carry all day long are a change of bottoms for her! It’s very convenient.” Mick’s Seaside Supplies located in Crocodile Dundee’s Boomerang Bay carries everything Diana and Fran need for a wet or dry day at the Park.
On the PGA wish list of souvenirs is a pictorial book. Steve A. of Sacramento, CA, is a big fan of theme park memorabilia and would like not only a book of high-end Park photographs, but also more postcards and a big wall map. Your requests have been noted, Steve!
Many of you are big fans of our refillable souvenir cups, PGA t-shirts and mugs with the Park name and logo on it. Whatever your preference, we’re glad creating and capturing memories at our Park is something you like doing and we thank you for taking the time to tell us about your favorite souvenirs. Because what you think is most important to us, we’ll routinely ask you your thoughts on events, attractions, games, and more!
Give the Gift of WOW!
If you know a graduating high school senior, consider giving a gift they can use all summer long! For the price of one full-priced admission ticket to PGA, you can purchase a WOW! Card that lets your graduate come back to the Park for FREE anytime during the Park's operating hours from now until the end of October! The WOW! Card offer is available through May 31st and then it's gone forever. Click here (http://www.parkfeedback.com/news/link.aspx?link=http://www.pgathrills.com/tickets_season_pass.jsp&QTE=2237264&QIS=33) for more.
PGA Celebrates With 2004 Grad Parties
Thousands of graduates from all over Northern California will celebrate high school graduation at Paramount’s Great America in early June. They’ll spend the day riding favorite Park attractions and splashing around in the new Crocodile Dundee’s Boomerang Bay Waterpark. After the Park closes, graduates remain for an exclusive dinner and one of the largest dance parties in the area. A popular DJ will host the private Grad Party inside the Paramount Pavilion and keep the crowd entertained from 7-11pm.
Fun and excitement for graduating seniors is the goal, but their safety is the Park’s first concern. All students will sign a waiver enforcing a no drugs, alcohol and smoking policy. A dress code will also be enforced and all chaperones will have access to radios and the additional security stationed around the Park. All chaperones receive a free ticket to the event, as do coordinators from area schools registering students.
PGA is still accepting registration forms for all 2004 Grad Parties. Available dates are Thursday, June 3rd and 10th, and Friday, June 4th and 11th. For an event registration form (pdf format), click here. To speak with a Park representative about the event, please call 408-986-5853.
Memorial Day Fireworks Light Up PGA Skies
On May30th, Paramount's Great America will celebrate Memorial Day Weekend with a world class Fireworks Extravaganza choreographed to patriotic and popular music. The night time spectacular is best viewed from Hollywood Plaza. The show is free with Park admission!

“All I need to say about my extremely excellent and fun trip to Paramount's Great America is that it’s so fun to go to with friends and family. Two years ago my family and friends took me to Great America for my 16th birthday. In attendance were my mom and dad, sisters Allison and Melissa, Melissa’s boyfriend, my girlfriend, two of my friends, my cousins and aunt. The trip was so fun that even now, two years later, I have not forgotten a single second of that day. We rode all of the rides, played games, ate, and of course had a great time! I would just like to thank Great America for the fun they allowed my friends, family and I to experience together. Thanks!”
- Shaun T. from Alameda, CA, will receive two tickets to Paramount's Great America! Winners are randomly selected. Submit your entry (http://www.parkfeedback.com/news/link.aspx?link=http://www.parkfeedback.com/news/memories.aspx&QTE=2237264&QIS=33)!
