Well, the USH prices went up again, it is now $19 more than a full price ticket for the basic AP ($68.75), and the Deluxe and Premium also went up ($99.75/$129.75)....
The Front of the Line pass is now $79.75 (regular admission is $49.75, $39.75 for those under 48" tall...). The VIP Experence is $135.
So is it worth it, if you go on a off-season weekday... no!
But if you go during the summer, or a busy weekend, yes, the Pass is worth the extra money....
Especially if you plan to visit after June 25th, then the Revenge of the Mummy is open... you will get your money's worth just by avoiding the long waits in the queue.....

The VIP experience is quite a bit different from Front of the Line - you get a guide for the day, an extended version of the Studio Tour (on a small trolley), and other perks.

I went up to Universal just before Spring Break on a Sunday, because I had gotten a notice about the "backstage tour" you can go on at T2-3D. When I got there, I found out the tour was only offered on weekdays, not weekends. No mention was made of that in the flyer I received. So I complained at Guest Services. They were appoligetic, and said the Marketing Department had made a huge mistake and they were aware of that. Nothing else was offered. So, since this was the last week the tour was offered, I took a day off work and went back on Wednesday. When I went to the ride, the attendant told me the backstage tour was at 12pm and 4pm, When I told him what happened on Sunday, he asked if anything had been done for me. I said no. He gave me a special Front on the Line Pass, one use only as an appology for Sunday. When I came back at 12 he was back on duty and took me through the front of the line pass and told me to keep the pass and use it on another attraction. Cool. The front of the line pass is really cool. On T2-3D you go right into a nice air conditioned room to wait for the preshow to start while everybody else is lined up in the sun outside. There is a TV monitor playing the same video that is shown outside. When the Preshow starts they usher you into the Pre show area in front of the rope that is stretched across the room. Much better than a long wait outside.
I then went to Jurasic Park, the Ride and went to Gate A. They looked at the pass and gave it back to me. At the front of the line queue, I was the only one in line so I got to go right on the boat ahead of everybody else standing in a rather long line. They checked the pass, and gave it back. Surprise. I went to Back to the Future, got right in ahead of the long line, got center row, center car. But they read the pass closer and kept it. That was ok. It is deffinately worth it on a hot, crowded day.
