I'll be in Bowie, MD for Memorial Day weekend. Does anyone know how long it would take to get to Kings Dominion? Bowie is about 15 miles east of Washington DC.

I've never been there but it looks interesting. Now that I'm on the right coast, I may have to start checking out the parks over this way. RagtimePrince 05-16-2004, 11:44 AM Kings Dominion is a really nice park if you want to ride some unique roller coasters. Grizzly, the wooden one kinda back in the forest, is probably my favorite ride there, but Volcano is pretty darn good too. Hypersonic is cool too, in some ways better than Xcelerator if you're from the left coast and know that ride. Flight of Fear is apparently a huge crowd pleaser, since it was a 3 hour wait on a weekday when I was there, so I can't say anything for that ride personally. The park has tons of trees and looks really nice, and there's a lot of kid-friendly rides, and waterslides too. Strongly recommend it, and the drive should go by pretty quickly, there wasn't any traffic when I did it. Photographer 05-17-2004, 08:48 AM Cool. I'll run it by the people I'm staying with. If I don't make it this trip maybe sometime later this summer. I always wanted to try a Paramount park. I don't know why, but I do. I'm too chicken to go on rollercoasters. Example: Go Coaster - good Space Mountain - bad Brian Noble 05-19-2004, 10:02 AM If 2 hours is too far, consider Six Flags America. Also, my favorite tool for findingn "close by parks" is www.rcdb.com---there is a "by distance from location" search feature that is fabulously useful. |
