disNeytEen 05-11-2004, 08:51 PM Ok we all know Micheal Eisner is terrible at what he does, and really horrible at what he thinks off as magical so to speak. So my thought is heck i can't do worse how do i become upper managment and help Disney how do i get my voice heard

Is that what they call "The Peter Principle"?
sediment 05-12-2004, 08:34 AM I believe the Peter Prinicple is about your hiring people who cannot take your job away from you. In a nutshell, always hire people less competent than you.

The Peter Principle is that “In a hierarchy, every employee tends to rise to his level of incompetence.”
I worked for a Peter Principled boss one time. It's a painful state to be in.
sediment 05-12-2004, 08:43 AM Am I thinking of some other management technique, or is my thought an offshoot of PP?
toonaspie 05-12-2004, 09:21 AM Yes, this Disney crises has inspired me to work in the family entertainment industry as well. I am going to begin a Telecommunications minor this summer. Do you know what type of education is required to work for corporate Disney? I would like to know. There's a possibility that I might stretch that to an extra major (depending)

I'm in a similar situation. I want to work for Disney, specifically in the theme parks division. (Oddly enough, this is what I have always wanted to do, even before I really got interested in the company itself within the past few years.) I'm majoring in Business as we speak because that makes sence, but I have yet to pick a minor. I was considering Theater, Psychology or Marketing. Or perhaps all three? And suggestions?

sediment 06-03-2004, 09:33 AM I know I'd get banned for calling you a flyin' fairy.
Upper management: Ivy League degree, for starters. Call me back when you're done. Start with an upper-crust boarding school education.
