Hi,
I must confess I'm new and don't know what SAC and GAC means. It does sound like I may have problems in procuring a discount for my son to DL. He is high functioning and unless you talk with him for more than a few minutes it's not apparent. Are the only discounts off single day passes for disabled from late FEB to Early March now (via certain CA ORG's, we are in AZ)? I hope to take my son within the week or so. Any advise from those experienced? TIA!

A parent with a child with autism may be able to help you with discounts- I have not heard of such discounts before.
SAC and GAC refer to access cards for guests with special needs. I think GAC means Guest Assistance Card. I'm actually surprised I don't remember the exact wording. These cards explain what needs your son would have to the cast members that run the attractions. They are not a discount.
The way you would get one of these is to go to City Hall at Disneyland and explain your son's specific needs to the Guest Relations Cast Members that work there. They would determine what card to give him.

Adrienne, It sounds like there are very little promotions or discounts in general...oh well, thanks so much for eplaining the GAC! Sally

Yes, that's pretty much it. The only discounts I can think of are for multiple day tickets, tickets tied to vacation packages through AAA, etc, or military discounts.

If you work for a large company, you may want to check with your benefits department regarding discounts. Years ago, discounts were offered on single day tickets.
A please know that, without both of you being completely exhausted, no matter how late the Park is open, or how early you get there, I don't feel that one can enjoy all that DL has to offer in only one day. You're going to have to pick and choose. And, I'd say that to anyone-not just those families dealing with individuals with disabillities.
That said, by all means, get there as early as possible. You'll be surprised by how much you can enjoy in the cool of early morning. And I can personally vouch for how helpful the SAC is-by all means stop by City Hall and get one if you're eligible.

Yes I work for a large company and they give discount tickets for Disneyland...
You have to Wait a week because it is only mail order. and No refunds...I think you save like 15% off a regular Adult gate ticket and 5% off a child ticket.
But discount tickets do exist they just take a darn while to get.
And the fact that I'm a Premium AP'er so I never use it..hehe

My oldest (almost 16) son is also high functioning autistic (and on Dilantin for seizures) and sounds a lot like your son, many people don't realize there's anything different about him unless they talk to him for a long period of time. I don't know of any ticket discounts (we're APers anyway) but, if his patience for lines is low you should be able to get a special assistance pass (or whatever they're calling them now) at city hall with little or no problem.
Actually, my boy is pretty good about lines, anything under 30 mins he's fine and we fast pass the rest. Also...we've been in the parade, he loved it and the CM's had no problem with it, actually they were great with him.
