I know alot of deals can be had using Pricline, but I've never used it on anything major like traveling outside the U.S. Has anybody here used Priceline for tickets to Paris, or hotels hear DLP?

Priceline shows hotels in Paris, but I have no idea if any of these are near DLP:
Bastille - Bercy
Batignolles - Montmartre - Republique
Champs Elysees - Opera Quarter West
Eiffel Tower - Grenelle - Montparnasse
La Defense - Neuilly
Opera Quarter East - Les Halles
St. Germain - Latin Quarter - Montparnasse

I want to stay onsite of course, but if I have save a ton of money I'd rather stay off-site and have more spending $ for DLP.

These locations are IN the city of Paris proper. It's a bit of a treck to stay in Paris and travel to DLP on a daily basis. If you do, anying in Les Halles or near Gare du Nord will be at least near the train station.

There are other hotels that are DLP adjacent that would be closer. Check the MP Travel Reviews.

What I was wondering was if any of the areas Priceline offers were workable. Sounds like they're not. At least while visiting DLP.

Wow NA, thanks so much for that information... I'm not planning a trip anytime in the immediate future but it's nice to know that there are padders here willing to graciously share their experience with the rest of the community. It's very much appreciated by most of us :)

If you chose one of these spots, I recommend BASTILLE in Paris, as it is very very close to GARE DE LYON station, wich is direct to DLP. :)

I don't think it is feasable to stay in these areas though and travel to Disneyland on a daily basis. The cost will mount up let alone the journey - Disneyland is about 15 to 20 miles outside of Paris so it is the equivelant of choosing a hotel in San Fernando and having to travel to Anaheim and back everyday.

Yeah, except for the glorious RER electric train that will whizz you there in minutes...somehow I don't think we'll see that in the Valley in our lifetimes

Maybe not minutes, but 20 minutes. The RER also drops out out very close to the Park entrance and it's a very nice and clean station.

Correct and I agree. Staying near an RER "A" station would be best.

But really you can stay practically anywhere in Paris and still get to Disneyland in well under an hour even. It's really very easy and the time goes by in an instant on the trains. So much to see and experience. They're part of the experience!

So if you're doing some advance planning and see an area of Paris that you'd really like to stay in, take a look at the Metro/RER maps online and if you don't have to change lines more than twice to get to Disneyland, I'd say go for it.

We've stayed in almost every arrondissement (section or neighborhood) and whenever we get the urge to visit the park we just hop on the Metro to the nearest RER "A" station, and usually within 40 minutes to an hour tops total, we're entering the park!

If you want to give Priceline a shot, I'd recommend first visiting the Paris forum of Biddingfortravel.com at:

...to see what the "going rates" are and where they are being excepted for bids. The "Hotel Listing" will also give you an idea of which hotels participate in Priceline, so you'll have an idea of what you might get. It's a great web site where bidders post their results so you can learn from their experiences, successes, and mistakes.

Ideally we'd like to stay at the Disneyland Hotel, but its quite expensive. So the idea is to see if it is feasible to stay 2 nights at the Disneyland Hotel, and concentrate on the park heavily those days. The rest of the time at a hotel through Priceline. I'm also trying to figure out how much time is needed to spend at DLP to see everything, since its such a long journey to get there.

Some people visit DLP in "commando" mode :), that usually means 1 day= 1 park. It is feasible, but you won't experience *everything* but only main and most popular rides (waiting lines are usully not too long). For exemple Space Mountain, Horney I shrunk the Audience, It's a small world, Pirates of the Carribeans, Big Thunder Mountain, Phantom Manor. + Fast Food ... eventually, a long awaited rest at the hotel ;)

Personally, that is not the way I love to enjoy DLP, but I understand some people have time restrictions. 2 days at Disneyland Park and 1 day at the Walt Disney Studios is probably the best.

About previous discussion (where to stay...), I must admit I'm not very fond of Paris suburb (although it's a quiet suburb), so I either stay on Disney property, or in inner Paris.
