We are thinking about taking this in July. What days are best for seeing the most things? Any tips?

Thanks,
John

John:

My son and I just did the VIP tour during spring break. I can't reccomend it enough. I'll be doing a full trip report soon but until then here are the basics:

As far as the park attractions go, anytime is a good time for the VIP tour. Your guide will plan your day around the various shows (Waterworld, Animal Planet, etc...) and attractions (Back-to-the-future, Jurrasic park, etc..) There is no set schedule. The guide will get you the best seats in the house (even before the front-of-line people) at each show, get you to the front of every attraction and do it all with little to no waiting on your part. We were there during a jammed packed spring break day and it felt like we were the only ones in the park...

As for the backlot tour it's great also. You stop, walk, and visit, things the main tour just drives past or never see at all (like the prop dept.). You are also are in a single car tram and the drivers make sure you stop at just the right point for all the suprises. You should have seen my son jump when.....

The only thing you might need to look at time wise is what's in production that day. When we were there we did not get to visit a live set like some tours do. Nothing was filming.

After (or before) you finish your tour, the VIP pass is good as a front-of-line pass and if you ask, discounts at all the stores. You can also take the normal tram tour if you like.

The only "issue" I had the entire day was upon arrival. You need to go to the VIP experience window at guest services to get your pass for entry into the park. However that window did not open until almost 30min AFTER the other guest services windows and well AFTER the park was already open. Grrrrrr.

Our guide was "Buck" and for us he was perfect. He's not much into who stars in what movie and when, but for technical details on how things work he's the best. Ask for him by name and tell him Moonliner said hi!

Ohh and if you are going with a "cute kid" about 8-12 years old make sure to sit front and center for Animal Planet and have them looking "perky". :)

Finally, be sure to visit USH's best but hard to find coaster. It's called "Matt". We missed that one on our otherwise perfect trip.... :crying:

First off, weekdays are best, especially since virtually nothing films on the weekends. Second, the prop department is only available Monday - Friday.
So my recommendation there is definitely WEEKDAYS. Be aware that the VIP Experience is pretty limited, and is sure to be VERY popular this summer; there are sure to be many days when it will be sold out well in advance. The day Moonliner visited, VIP Experience was sold out before he even got there. The VIP Experience lasts about 6 hours, so make sure you set aside most of the day for your visit.

Have fun

If you get the VIP Experience, are you able afterwards to upgrade to an Annual Pass? Or if you have an Annual Pass, it the VIP cheaper?

Thanks again,
John

If you have a annual pass, do you still have to pay the full price for the vip experience or do you get a discount?
