I am so glad that I found this forum! We are heading to Disneyland this weekend with our two kids. DS is 6 with Asperger's, ADHD and Sensory Integration issues. I called and asked about the GAC - was told that since my son's meltdowns could be a "safety concern for other guests" (he gets violent), that we *should* qualify for a GAC. I am bringing our report from Stanford Medical Center, just in case, since it seems that the GACs can be tough to get.

Does anyone have other advice for me beyond this in terms of getting a GAC? I know we're not going at the best time - DS thrives on routine and will not miss school, so we're just going to do what we can during the craziness of Spring Break.

My son also has asperger's and receives a GAC when we visit Disneyland. My advise to you is not to mention the word aspergers because they have no ideal what that is. You may want to bring up his behaviors instead. Here is an example. "My son cannot be confined to a line because he displays autistic like behaviors when he feels he is surrounded by people." I hope you all have a great time in the park. I am sure your son will have a great time. My son loves Disney even when he is thrown out of his routine!

Kaybee2, I recommend you take this advice. You may just want to say "he displays behaviors when he feels he is surrounded by people." That is nearly the exact words City Hall used when giving me my GAC.
