Hi!! I'm new here but have been reading posts for a couple of weeks now. I just recently read one talking about masks with tokens at Epcot? My husband and I are planning a trip in Oct with our 3 yr old son. It'll be mine and son's first trip, and hubby's second (his first was when he was 2). Anyway, I had read about the Epcot passport and we were planning on getting one of those. We were also planning on getting an autograph book too, and doing the pressed coins. But what's this about the masks and tokens? We've never heard of this. Also, if anyone has any other ideas for inexpensive or free souvineers (spelling?) I'd appreciate it!

oooh first timers and your hubby's first time where he can ride all the rides =)
the squisked pennies are inexpensive... well unless you try to get one (or multiple) of every one at the park (it adds up after a bit) =P
the autograph book should be a lot of fun for your son (and even you and your hubby)
maybe bring a camera and take a lot of pics... they aren't expensive (just remember to bring a lot of film.. it's cheaper if you buy it outside of the park)
also I don't know about the masks and tokens.. I know they have a lot of hats.. but I didn't know about masks

I believe the masks you are referring to are the ones made at the Kid Spots at Epcot World Showcase. This is where you would be getting the passport signed. Kids start their mask at any country and then add to it at each stop.
Pressed pennies are great souvenirs - make sure you invest in a holder for them. Start saving your quarters and pennies now and you'll have plenty for your trip.
One cheap and practical souvenir - a water bottle strap. Sold at just about any place that has the 20 oz plastic bottles, they are $3 and each park has its own design. I use mine at home all the time.

Yep. Masks are at the Kidcot Fun Stops. Start anywhere, and get the mask on a stick. Decorate it some, and have the Cast Member from that country stamp their stamp on the stick and attach a token to it. Sometimes, they'll sign it or write something on it. (If you've also got the passport, they'll probably just sign that.) My son had a lot of fun doing his in October, and was heartbroken when it was stolen out of our stroller hood on the last day, hours after he finished it. It may or may not be much for a 3YO to do (depends on the kid), but it's worth a try.

My 9 year old daughter loved this part of Epcot. The people signing the passports are (usually) from the country that you are "visiting". Its a great way to keep track of where you have been in the World Showcase.
BTW: the pressed coin machines are great. Not only are they around the parks but also around the resorts, too. Some of them are quarter presses as well. I have to admit, I enjoy it as much as my daughter. (I was trying to get all the 75 years of Mickey quarters...)
One last thing about Epcot... take time to talk with those who are showcasing their country and ask questions if you have them. My daughter was really enjoying a conversation with a woman from Mexico, and loved it when she learned a little Spanish as well.
Enjoy!!
