Knott's Soak City U.S.A. Palm Springs Press Release
Here Comes the Fun! Knott's Soak City U.S.A. Back for Third Season; Fun in the Sun at Soak City U.S.A. Water Park in Palm Springs
PALM SPRINGS, Calif.--March 10, 2004--Turn up the heat, here comes the fun! Rides, slides and plenty of fun in the sun in Palm Springs as Knott's Berry Farm, America's first theme park operator, re-opens Knott's Soak City U.S.A. for its third season. Longboards, surf woodies and beach themes are back in order for the wildest, wettest and coolest place in the desert. The 2004 season is scheduled to kick off on March 13, 2004.
Knott's Berry Farm owner Cedar Fair, L.P. acquired the Oasis Water Park and 5 acres of adjoining land in May 2001 and immediately began a redevelopment effort to bring the 21-acre park up to Knott's quality standards. Following an extensive renovation and expansion, Knott's themed the park with a colorful theme inspired by surf towns of the 1950s Southern California coast. A highlight of the expansion was Kahuna's Beach House, a 4-story tall interactive water playhouse.
"The Palm Springs community has been so enthusiastic since our arrival and continues to support us. We've had two incredible seasons already and we're really looking forward to our third," stated Gregg Picon, vice president and general manager for the Palm Springs facility.
With eighteen private poolside cabanas available for rent by the day, guests can have it made in the shade. Full waiter/waitress service is available at all cabanas. Reservations for cabanas are suggested.
Maintaining Knott's reputation of offering quality entertainment for a competitive price, 2004 Knott's Soak City U.S.A. kids' admission has dropped to a new low price of just $12.95. That's a four-dollar decrease off 2003 prices. Adult admission will continue to be offered at great prices with several promotions throughout the season. Admission prices of $24.95 for adults and $12.95 for kids ages 3-11 include unlimited use of all water rides and attractions. Soak City U.S.A. also offers an after 3 p.m. ticket of just $14.95 for adults and $9.95 for kids.
