PARAMOUNT'S GREAT AMERICA PRESS RELEASE

Streets to come alive with the Nick Celebration Parade
This month the streets of PGA will come to life as never before with the premiere performance of the Nickelodeon Celebration Parade, an interactive event featuring your favorite Nickelodeon characters and more than 75 performers, floats and banners. Look for more details in an upcoming issue of the park newsletter.

Crocodile Dundee's Boomerang Bay™ to Debut in May
In May Paramount’s Great America will unveil Crocodile Dundee’s Boomerang Bay™, an Australian-themed 2.7 acre water park. This multi-million dollar investment includes 11 waterslides, a giant water-powered playhouse and a children’s splash area. Entrance to the water park is free with park admission.
PGA is the only park in California featuring a water park inside a theme park. To make room for the new water park, which is about 5.5 football fields in size, PGA removed the Stealth Coaster and sent it to Paramount’s Carowinds, located in Charlotte, NC. Work began on Crocodile Dundee’s Boomerang Bay in mid-November of 2003.
Signature water attractions include DownUnder Thunder, Didgeridoo Falls, Tasmanian Typhoon, Jackaroo Landing and Kookaburra Cay. There will be plenty of shaded spots to escape the hot sun and lockers are available for a nominal fee.

VIP Pass Expands to Include Admission to Three Parks
New in 2004, guests who purchase a VIP Pass to Paramount’s Great America will be able to visit three local parks for the price of one - Paramount’s Great America, Crocodile Dundee’s Boomerang Bay™, and Bonfante Gardens Family Theme Park in Gilroy, Calif. For repeat guests, season passes are a smart investment as they pay for themselves in less than two visits.
Additionally, the VIP Pass includes free parking at Paramount’s Great America and admission to all of the Paramount Parks throughout North America. Passholders also receive savings on special events and concerts and a 20% discount on food and merchandise at select vendors and restaurants including: The Nickelodeon Store®, Girl Space™, ie Brown’s and American Café.
Included in the 3-in-1 park admission, Bonfante Gardens combines four unique gardens and amusement rides with the mid-20th century history and agricultural roots of Santa Clara Valley. Insider tip: buy your VIP pass before May 31 and you'll automatically receive a discount off the regular price!
For more information on VIP Pass benefits or to buy a season pass, visit the park web site (http://www.pgathrills.com/).

PGA's WOW! Card Offer Extended Through May 31st
With the PGA’s WOW! Card guests pay the equivalent of one full admission and gain access to the park all season long for free! Different from a VIP Pass, the WOW! Card is good for admission only. To purchase, call 1-888-PGA-PASS or visit a participating Blockbuster or Safeway location. 2004 is the last year PGA will offer the Wow! Card.

Do you know if the Wow! card includes the water park also? I thought last season was the Wow's last appearance, but I guess it's park for one more try! Thanks!

The water park is included with the price of admission, period.
You can't visit the water park, with out admission to the theme park, so this whole deal of it being another park you get access to with a season pass is a bunch of marketing (insert non-family friendly word here). :)

And since it's 90% smaller than a proper water park, I expect either lame, overcrowded, or both. Plus it replaces the only truly innovative ride they've ever built (Stealth). Not only that, they were too stupid to have a "ride Stealth one more time promotion." When the announcement was made last year, weeks before the end of the season, I went down for one last ride, and they were already dismantling it. Didn't even get a form letter response when I wrote to complain. Yet the monstrosity called Grizzly still stands.

So, this year we have season passes for Marine World instead of PGA for the first time in years.

They removed Stealth? Holy smokes... that was a brand-new coaster.

Wow, I may have to go on vacation in Santa Clara!

Not only that, they were too stupid to have a "ride Stealth one more time promotion." When the announcement was made last year, weeks before the end of the season, I went down for one last ride, and they were already dismantling it.They wanted it to go quietly, no big announcement, just like with Greezed Lightning.

Ironically, the "ride one more time" for employees never happened, after the last guests got off on Sept. 1st or whenever it was, the darn thing broke down in a bad way and everyone said "@$*& this @#!$(& ride, ship this %$*(&!# thing to Carolina" and left. ACE had an event that morning because they whined and the park quietly obliged, but that was it, and with one train it ran at maybe 350-400 riders/hour capacity so nobody got too many rides in near the end anyway.

I strongly applaud all the new changes at PGA, and if you want to ride Stealth still, you can just head on over to Carowinds, 3000 miles isn't that far team-driving without stops. ;)

I'm pretty disappointed with the way "Tidal Wave" and "Stealth" vanished. On both occasions I went to the park and they were already gone, no warning. "Tidal Wave" being my favorite attraction on the planet, this still kills me.

Nonetheless, We just purchased our season passes. The first time I've bought one. The Wow! cards were fine but we also enjoy "Bonfante Gardens".

One thing I've learned about PGA is that you should take plenty of pictures because you never know when it's the last time you'll see your favorite attractions.

And why is that da-- "Grizzly" still there? Worst roller coaster ever made.

Here's hoping things will be impressive over at PGA 2004. Hope to see you there!

We went to Great America this past Friday(friday before Easter)and it was wonderfully dead! LOL Walked right on Top Gun, got food in minutes(was pleasantly surprised with the food at the NickToon Cafe I might add!)and the park was looking pretty dang clean(Big Surprise here, even the kids noticed! LOL)
:p

We got Season passes last October since we were able to go two more times in 2003 and all this year it was worth it. Plus, I have really been wanting to check out Bonafonte Gardens.

I can't stand the Grizzly either, I refuse to ride it anymore(my back and neck kills me after that ride!)but my 9 year old got to ride it for the first time(it was broken down every other time he'd wanted to ride)and he got off and said "MAN Ghostrider is SOOO much better! That ride hurts!" LOL
