I just about fell out of my chair this morning when I saw Adrienne Krock's article on Oak Glen. I grew up there and worked there most summers, including a "U-Pick" orchard and Law's Coffee Shop for several years.
Just an aside. "Apple Season" really ramps up in October, and just about all of Los Angeles seems to know about it. Long lines at restaurants and overcrowding are the norm for this month, so beware.
Oh, and by the way, if you do go...don't yank on the apples if you pick them. Twist them off at the stem, so that they may grow back next year for you to enjoy! :P
