Does anyone else think Eisner has been getting better these last few weeks? I think he knows he is in trouble so he is trying a lot harder. However i believe this is too little too late and he still needs to go.

I think he's just grasping at anything he can to try and save face before the shareholder's meeting.

I find there's a distinction between actually doing better, and merely making the books appear better for a limited space of time. I believe Eisner falls into the 2nd category.

I believe he's trying to maximize his exit package.
Comcast bid might have helped, as it was such a lowball offer. Finally he did something good for shareholders by rejecting it.

I think he's dealing with distractions and attempting to put out fires. Not getting "better", instead he is in fact now working for a living, and he's wide awake now.

I was listening to oldies' radio in the car this afternoon. This song came on and I thought how well it seemed to fit:

"Reeling In The Years"

(As recorded by Steely Dan)
WALTER BECKER
DONALD FAGEN

Your everlasting summer you can see it fading fast
So you grab a piece of something that you think is gonna last
Well you wouldn't even know a diamond if you held it in your hand
The things you think are precious, I can't understand.

Are you reeling in the years
Stowing away the time?
Are you gathering up the tears
Have you had enough of mine?
Are you reeling in the years
Stowing away the time?
Are you gathering up the tears
Have you had enough of mine?

You been telling me you were a genius since you were seventeen
In all the time I've known you I still don't know what you mean
The weekend at the college didn't turn out like you planned
The things that pass for knowledge I can't understand.

Are you reeling in the years
Stowing away the time?
Are you gathering up the tears
Have you had enough of mine?
Are you reeling in the years
Stowing away the time?
Are you gathering up the tears
Have you had enough of mine?

I've spent a lot of money, I've spent a lot of time
The trip we made to Hollywood is etched upon my mind
After all the things we've done and seen you find another man
The things you think are useless I can't understand.

Are you reeling in the years
Stowing away the time?
Are you gathering up the tears
Have you had enough of mine?
Are you reeling in the years
Stowing away the time?
Are you gathering up the tears
Have you had enough of mine?
