This will be the first time my husband and I have taken my daughter to WDW without a stroller. We've taken a Sit & Stand stroller in her toddler / preschool years because we could have her hop on and off the little bench or standing platform, or let her walk when she wanted to, and used the front seat and the basket underneath for carrying all our supplies. But she just turned six in January and she's a 54 pound, 47" kindergartener. She is too old and too big for a stroller now. Besides, we recently gave away our trusty Sit & Stand. My daughter doesn't do daytime naps, but we want to get her to bed around 8:30 each night, so we plan to do full days at the parks without going back to our off-property hotel during the day. How do we carry all our stuff?

Most people will say to use backpacks. But it gets so hot and there is so much walking that a backpack is really uncomfortable. And then there is the issue of where to put them when we all go on rides together.

I'd love to bring our big red molded plastic wagon with the rubber wheels. We could carry all our stuff easily and our daughter could hop in for a ride when she gets tired. But it will be tough to get it there by plane and I don't know if Disney World and Seaworld will allow it. Plus, it may not fit in the rental car trunk. One person already told me the parks don't allow wagons.

For this trip, the second full week of May, we're going to Discovery Cove, Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Seaworld, and Blizzard Beach. We'd like to pack bathing suits, flip flops, bottles of water, sunglasses, some snacks, and sunscreen for all three of us and an extra set of clothing for my daughter. During the day, we might pick up a souvenir or two. We'll have a small camera and some money, etc. Money, credits cards, etc. can go in a wallet or fanny pack. What about everything else?

This is my first time going with a young, walking child who won't need a stroller and I've never noticed what everyone else does. Do they take a stroller just to have something with wheels to carry the family's stuff?

What about those wire baskets with wheels that some urban people use to take groceries home from the store, or bringing a folding frame with wheels that people use for carring a suitcase, and using it to carry our backpacks when we don't want to lug them?

Or, should I just borrow a stroller for carrying stuff, and having it on han djust in case my daughter decides she's really tired of walking?

Advice appreciated!

Michelle
