Well, it's not like they really advertised Wonderland very well...

Everybody else seems to go up to the Gold Coast for their amusement park fix

...At least Luna Park Sydney is reopening in it's limited capacity in April, so I'll have somewhere local to go... but I'm not sure they'll have yearly passes ?!?

...I blame the decline of wonderland on bad (new) management for example... they lost the sponsorship of hanna-barbera and had to eventually close down the entire kiddy-themed area of the park...bad news for a "family" park and the fact that they didn't put in one major ride after 1995 !

Space Probe HOPEFULLY will find new life at another park.

Matt, I hope so !! ...and while they're relocating it, I hope they fix up the broken down pre-show !

...It used to be a tense news-cast relating all sorts of information about the space probe, and it's capabilities, when suddenly the alien broadcast they were picking up revealed itself to be the alien's DNA code, which it used to replicate itself and manifest itself throughout the tunnels where you were queued. Add intermittant "power outages" and lights and alarms, and you had a pretty neat immersive adventure. The staff continued the sense of urgency (for the first season, anyhow) and hustled you into another pre-show where you were sorted into groups and "scanned" You then had to get out of the complex urgently.

There was only one way out......

You got into your "escape pods" and went up to the fibreglass canopy on top of the tower where you were shown a bit more video footage (while hanging 200ft up, may I remind you), and then a countdown appeared on screen starting at 10... and usually dropping randomly between 4 & 1

A brilliant ride, and I hope it is restored *cross fingers*
