Coach John Wooden is signing his new children’s book, Inch and Miles: The Journey to Success, at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 22, at Compass Books & Café, located in the Downtown Disney® District at the Disneyland® Resort in Anaheim. This is Wooden’s only independent bookstore appearance in Orange County. Parking is free for 3 hours.
Wooden and his basketball teams virtually created March Madness by amassing 10 national championships, 7 in a row; along with 4 perfect seasons; an 88-game winning streak; and 38 straight victories in tournament play.
Wooden’s new children’s book Inch and Miles is based on his Pyramid of Success and delivers a gentle message about the personal greatness that lives within all of us. In the book, two characters, Inch and Miles, set out on a quest with a magic silver whistle and discover the blocks of the Pyramid of Success to learn how to try to give100 percent to be their personal best.
Inch and Miles is published by Perfection Learning and retails for $15.95. Coach Wooden’s previous book, Wooden, (McGraw-Hill, $16.95) will also be available for purchase at the Compass Books & Café book signing.
