OK, I might be showing my age here...

When I was a kid Calico Ghost Town was Da Bomb! With it's name written in huge letters up on the Mountian, Cold Sasparilla, shows and such. Has anyone been there in the last 20 Years? It is still cool for kids or has it gone too campy?

I was there last week. Still good, but in the eyes of the beholder. I use to think the giant eye in Adventures through Inner Space was scarry. But now I would think it was terribly fake, but only because I'm older (Ok, and because technology has advanced a bit).

I was there last week too. and they do love to nickle and dime you. You pay to park and to get in the park at the same time. you will pay Disney prices for soads and water, the food wasn't what I was looking for, but I still had a great day.

You can hike and shop but remember they will nickle and dime you wil a $1.00 per person to go in Ms. Maggie mine, $1.00 per person to go thru the haunted Shack (just like Knotts Had) and $1.50 for the train ride that was very short ride.

I spent about 3 hours and enjoyed it

Thanks for the link.

I'm sure I've been there as a child. My Dad was fascinated with the West and it's folk tales and was anxious to explore these things when he moved there. Having a baby born in CA gave good reason to go exploring. I've been to many of the public/famous ranches as well as ghost towns. I just don't remember this one specificially.

Sounds like a good diversion on the way up to Bishop,.

[lowers head in embarasment] I thought you were talking about Knott's Berry Farm! Sorry ! I haven't been there in 30 years. I still see the signs on the way out to Vegas, but don't have the time to stop any more (and no money on the way back;) . [/raises head and leaves quickly]
