It's awesome!

I signed up to get the bumpersticker. :fez:

They need discussion boards though. It would be a great way for people to exchange ideas and stuff. :)

I think they link to some mighty fine discussion boards already. :)

I need a new front license plate - my homemade one that said "Roy and Stanley are Right!" is starting to fade. A bumper sticker.... hmmm... I can work with that...

Holy crap! Our very own merlinjones made the front page, including his name! :)

Congrats! (Of course this also means there's a reference to MP at the end of his article, which is cool too ;) )

What a difference some good web design makes!

Bumpersticker, I'm in....but if they sold shirts, not only would they get the word out like crazy, they'd make a killing, and they'd have even more money to attack Eisner with.

This is the letter I sent to them

Hi, I love the site and I support you 110%. I look forward to receiving my bumper sticker, however I'd love to buy t-shirts. Have you considered opening a store at CafePress to help support the site? I'd love to wear a "Roy and Stanley were right!" T-shirt!

Thanks again for all you are doing!
~a proud supporter!

I'd rather have a window decal for the car than a bumper sticker, but I'll definitely use whatever is sent. I supported the new site by just now E-mailing a lot of Disney fans I know, pointing them to the new look of the site and urging them if like-minded to in turn point the site out to their Disney fan friends. Best way to support now: Pass the word along.

I want a shirt, hat and totebag! I think those would really help get the word out, especially when worn at DL. :~D

Yup, they changed it about a day ago. I like the change, very professional now.

I just want to say one little thing - shouldn't it be..."Roy and Stan ARE Right"? Instead of "were".

;)

The bumper stickers should say "Free Mickey!"

Is that on the savedisney site somewhere?

merlinjones, the site doesn't work for the Mozilla browser. I am pretty sure there is something you can put in the headers that fixes this.

I will forward this to the right party

If you haven't yet visited the all-new, improved site, take a look. It's layered with new and archival information and will update supporters on news as it happens. If you would also pass the word (and URL) to your friends and family and co-workers, especially outside of the Disney fan communities, this
grassroots movement can build even greater momentum.

merlinjones, You made a wise suggestion I wholeheartedly agree with. When I found out the SaveDisney.com site had been upgraded last week, I quickly 1) Joined it, 2) Offered ways I could help (part of the questionnaire on the site) 3) E-mailed Disney friends I thought might be interested. 4) There are some Disney friends I will send a snail-mail note to because I do not have their E-mail addresses. There was a Disney friend who received my E-mail and replied he had heard of Roy Disney and Stanley Gold resigning, but hadn't heard of SaveDisney.com at all, let alone that the site had been upgraded, and he thanked me for the pointer to it. When the bumper sticker arrives in the mail I'll put it on our van and drive around town as usual. I like the effort is called "Save Disney" rather than "Boycott Disney". I've seen some "Boycott Disney" bumper stickers and they sound/appear harsh and negative, like an order to turn your back on the place. "Save Disney" is more upbeat and into positive change in it's sound/appearance, would make a more favorable impression at least for people whose interest is piqued to find out more, more constructive sounding than rejection sounding. If the URL is on the bumper sticker the reader is invited to find out more in a non-confrontational way.

First and best way to help, as merlinjones put it so well, is to let those you know who might be interested know the URL for the site, what it's generally about, and invite them to take a look. Keep checking with the site for updates, particularly in the "Take Action" section (see the top menu bar on the home page, look for "Take Action" and click it). Join the site yourself (see on the home page, an obvious reference for how to do that, click on it).

The other way to help is if anyone owns shares of Disney stock, await the annual report and the proxy voting card, due within a few weeks in the mail. Inform yourself of any issues you as a shareholder will be asked to cast a vote on. You can look up Disney in publications like the Wall Street Journal or other business magazines and newspapers or search online and learn via business journalism how the company is being run and what some of the issues may be. Think about it all, and vote the proxy card according to what you consider to be the right thing to do is and mail it in promptly. The business press will be paying attention to how much proxy response there is to Roy Disney and Stanley Gold but they will not be paying attention 'til the first week of March, which is when the shareholder's annual meeting is. If the response is significantly in favor of any positions Roy Disney and Stanley Gold have, then the business press will take note of it. If the response is weak, then the business press will take note of that, too.

Spreading the word about SaveDisney.com in a cordial, invitational way; urging friends who check the site out to join it and in turn spread the word themselves; staying informed and up-to-date with the site; and being aware of the upcoming shareholder's meeting are the ways, right now, we can all take part and help. It doesn't sound like much. But the more people who do just a little bit to help, the more and more and more people will hear about SaveDisney.com, consider getting involved, and they in turn will be telling others about it, and so forth. No one is asking for marching in the streets or turning your entire life over to this, so don't build it up to more than what it is right now in your mind. Brief, cordial invitations to check it out, coming from a friend like you, will prompt more change and news-spreading than you can imagine, and brief cordial invitations don't demand much time or effort or resources on your part on behalf of what might very well be a good cause.

Sorry if I went on, but I do feel as if this is worth caring about and it would be great to try to turn Disney around, if only to give it the ol' college try. Your mileages may vary, which is fine on the free Internet and in the free world.

:)

D'oh, sorry, I was referring to this when I said it should be "are" instead of "were". Forgot to quote.

It's just that "were" sounds almost like it's over with already.
