this morning I read the great news on Mouseplanet that Universal has given the greenlight to Build Men In Black: Alien Attack At Universal Studios Hollywood. I would like to ask a few questions to anybody who knows, since I have never been to USF and have never had the opportunity to ride this unique attraction. First, will the ride they build here in Hollywood be exactly the same as the one in Florida? Second, will they definitely be changing the name? I have a suggestion if they do. Change it from Alien Attack to Alien Assault. Third, will they have enough room to build it in the old World of Cinemagic, or will they have to expand it to a bigger building because from what I hear, the building that houses Alien Attack in Florida is pretty big. Fourth and Last, When is the attraction scheduled to be finished? If anyone can help me out with these questions, I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

Too bad - I was hoping that they would build Spiderman here.

Men in Black was a huge disappointment for myself and my teenage kids when we went on it in Orlando in April - the ride itself is so chaotic that you really don't get to enjoy the detail of the various sets or you don't get to see many of the aliens very well. The best part of the ride for us was the queue which was terrific (aliens at coffee pot, weapons room, twins at the monitoring desk).

Spiderman is absolutely incredible - awesome effects, great surprises (even the 2nd or 3rd time around), seamless melding of effects and motion. Probably not surprising that Universal might keep it as an anchor attraction for Orlando's IOA.

I loved MIB we went on it at least a dozen times, and I was told that I got one of the highest scores of the year. that was in march, so lots of people probably past me by. as for USH from the reports I've seen, it is suposed to be themed after the sequal, but the sequal is on hold now that NY is in such turmoil. from what I heard the WTC was supposed to be part of the main plot. yes spiderman was also one of the best rides I've ever been on, but MIB is realy interactive. IMHO if USH gets MIB put in it will be a big draw.

BTW if you ever get a chance to Fla its WELL worth the time and effort. IOA is by far one of the best park in the world

I work at USH as a guide on the tour.( BTW, since last year, with the addition of the DVD players on the trams, the tour is now officially called the "Studio Tour", as opposed to Backlot Tram Tour). After reading on MP about the Men in Black ride going into the old "Cinemagic" venue, I asked one of my managers about it, and he said that he hadn't heard anything official about it. Also, Screamscape reports that the old Cinemagic show may be re-opening this spring with a "Grinch" theme replacing the old Back to the Future" show.
At work, no one seems to have any idea what specifically will go into that venue, but with the current budget cuts, and Vivendi's uncertainty as to what to do with the theme park, I really can't picture MIB opening anytime soon.
So, there you have it. Different stories about what is going on, from different sources, some official, some not.

Actually the seqeal is not on hold for MIB. True, they are having to rework some of the locations because some of it was supposed to take place at the WTC, but the film is still on track.
