Ok, finally getting around to posting pics of my Disney cruise from last year...October to be more precise. Or was it September? Bah, who cares...here are the pics.

Ok, so we start off at the port where you embark. The line was long, and along with the wait. Had a I known about being Castaway Club member (simply because we had been on the cruise before), then I would have known about being able to board earlier than the newbies. Oh well, live and learn I suppose...

Ok, so once you're on, you've got a bit of a wait til the rooms are ready. Remember, they had just pulled in that morning from the last cruise, and so have a lot of work to do. Rooms are typically ready around 1:30, but the lunch buffet is open, and it's all you can eat!!!! Yeah, I LOADED up on shrimp! Anyways, here's the room we were in...

After we settled in our room, we took a tour of the top deck...

I'm such a geek (by the way, ESPN Zone is gone now) (http://members.cox.net/moxin/espn.jpg)

Once we were under way, we made our way to the front of the ship. I'm actually leaning way back in this pic, as the winds are incredible up there!

Wheeeeeeeee! (http://members.cox.net/moxin/windy.jpg)

Our first stop was St. Maarten, which we denote by our t-shirts. Geek factor is at defcon 1! Incidentally, I'm wearing that same t-shirt as I write this.

St. Maarten 4 (http://members.cox.net/moxin/maarten4.JPG)

On St. Maarten, we broke down and did the dolphin encounter, which involves an hour boat ride to Anguilla, where we spent half a day on a beautiful white sand beach, then the other half swimming with dolphins and sting rays. Unfortunately, since both my wife and I were in the water with the dolphins at the same time, we don't have any pics of us with them! ARGH! We shelled out $10 each for the pics they take there.

Oh, this next one is still on St Maarten, and it's on the drive to the dolphin encounter. I only snapped it because of the overwhelming amount of air fresheners up there!

It stunk pretty (http://members.cox.net/moxin/airfreshener.jpg)

Ok, the next day found us at the island of St. Thomas, which, in my opinion, was far more scenic than St. Maarten. Oh, by the way, I spent most of the time on the ship wearing pretty much only my swimsuit. Only at dinner did I wear much more. And why not? It's a freakin cruise baby! Here's some pics as we came in that morning...

Now, if you're going on the Disney cruise to the Eastern Caribbean, and you dock at St. Thomas, get on to the Doubloon excursion. The Doubloon is a 2 masted schooner reminiscent of a pirate ship, and they really play it up. Check out my pirate tatoo! Ar matey! It's a snorkeling excursion to a small reef where you will see sea turtles, sharks, cuttlefish and all sorts of coold stuff. Plus, they have FREE DRINKS THE WHOLE WAY! I'm not talking about lemondate here, I'm talking rum punch baby! Yeah, I had a blast on this thing! Sorry there's only 2 pics, but we were having too much fun!

Drink up me hearty's yo ho! (http://members.cox.net/moxin/doubloon2.jpg)

That's pretty much it, except for two more here. Every night when you come back to your room, your server makes these cool animals with the towels, and anything else handy. It's nothing big, but it really exemplifies the impeccable service that you've come to expect with Disney. Maybe Eisner will someday realize it's the personal touch that we still enjoy...

It's a monkey! (http://members.cox.net/moxin/towelanimal1.jpg)
I miss those mints too! (http://members.cox.net/moxin/towelanimal2.jpg)

So, there ya have it...our cruise in a nutshell.

Moxin --
Thank you so much for sharing your pics! I think that the impact of how amazing a DCL vacation is really sinks in when you get to see it :)

When we got back and looked at the pics we were amazed at how few we took. We sat back and thought about it for a moment and realized that, simply enough, we had been too busy to take more!

LOL...a new found friend of mine named Lilblckrncld turned me on to this site. I'm a Disney nut, and thought others interested in the cruise might like to see what it's like!

Yeah, St. Thomas and St. Maarten are WAY prettier than Nassau...cleaner too, I think. When we're pulling into port, it's one of the most beautiful parts of the whole cruise.
