I know that if DustyTraveler can "convert" my husband and father of three children, he gets not only a toaster oven but a host of kitchen appliances (Standing mixer, blender, Espresso Machine, what else?)

So what do I get for converting a Windoze victim from the dark side to a very very happy iMac owner and OS X user? We even "warned" her that there might be a rough transition figuring out how to use her new OS but 24 hours into it, she's in absolute heaven.

Do you think Steve would send me a little 1" Apple sticker to put on the top of my iBook? I could collect them like football players put stickers on their helmets?

If DustyTraveller gets appliances, maybe I could get an iPod or something?

I type this on my beuatiful 15" iMac (the pretty sunflower iMac that sticks its tongue out in the commercials). I run Mac OS 10.3 on my wonderful machine.

I have a brand new Dell at home that is a year younger than my iMac and my iMac is still faster than the Dell. There are so many things I can do so much faster on the iMac. I type faster, I can have more programs open at one time, switching between programs is so much easier and you do not have to deal with the awful "hidden files" like in the newest version of windows.

The Microsoft Office I have running on my iMac is even more user friendly than the windows version (I know, Microsft, user friendly, total oxymoron).

If Nathan was something other than an engineer, I think we would have a Mac at home. Although I have heard rumors that Mac is negotiating with AutoCAD to come out with a Mac version.

Oh, and I run a "Classic-Free" Mac.

My father is an electrical engineer and when he formally retired (he still "consults" for many companies,) from a very well known, large aerospace company, he still had a Mac on his desk. He refused to ever allow them to put a windoze machine in his office. :D

Most Windoze apps can be run on a Mac. If it refuses to install on it, there are quite a few virtual Windows things you can get for it (VMware comes to mind).

I would LOVE to have a mac, but they are too darn expensive. I can completly see a nice iMac or G5 gracing this old desk here. :geek:

I LOVE going to the apple store too. Espically the one in the Grove. :fez:
