They have had these in Japan for like 2 years now. Same with Picture Phones, 802.11g, and more. All of Europe and Asia is beginning to outpace us.

That is a great price. I paid $119 at Neiman Marcus for one for my father for Xmas. Does it work?

You have to ask? Undoubtedly it works! We tried it last week with our dog, Pretzel, and we discovered to our surprise how shallow our dog actually is. All Pretzel ever says are things like, "Can I have a biscuit?", "Are you going to finish that food?", "I enjoy marching band music." Of course, our answer to all the above questions was, No, No, and Are you kidding me?
As Pretzel walked away, he muttered something under his breath that we were sure was nasty, but the Takara machine determined was simply just another request for food. Lucky for the machine or we would have kicked Pretzels up-turned tail clear across the room.
I think it is fair to say that at first my dog, Pretzel, was shocked that we could understand the complexities of his dog-language. And we noticed that when he conversed with other dogs, it was obvious he was trying to 'fool' the machine by talking really fast. Another time Pretzel seemed to switch over to Pig Latin, but I'll hand it the Takara Company, the machine missed nothing. Though I am disappointed to report that neither dog had much to say, but for repeating the phrase, "Will you take me out for a walk?" until I pulled them away. They were all ready on a walk! How stupid are these dogs, anyway?
Bored with listening to our dog's endless requests for food, we turned the machine to our other house pets with little success; but it seems even our rabbit, was requesting, "biscuits." I wasn't even aware rabbits enjoyed biscuits. Maybe our rabbit was influenced by our dogs endless requests, though when I tossed a few in the cage for the rabbit, it just sniffed at them and walked away. Thanks a lot, Takara!
I even pointed the device at a Bob Dylan album, during the song, "Girl from the North Country," believing the Takara machine may offer some insight to Dylan's abstruse poetry; but it only determined that the "girl", or maybe even, Bob, was aching to be taken outside to go potty.
I suggest, you think twice before spending your money on such a device. Is your dog really so hard to figure out?

I was hoping it'd be a little more complex than that (6? Gimme a break!)
I once heard of some study they did where if you exactly reversed the pattern of a baby's babble, it would come out sounding pretty much like what they were attempting to say to you. I was hoping it was something like that.
I already know when my dog is frustrated, I just can't always figure out what to do about it.

Try taking him or her for a walk. But I know you what you mean. Maybe they are frustrated by something going on in their lives, like for instance, my dog has trouble getting through most books. I later learned that a dog has a capacity to understand 500 words, which may explain why my dog is always starting a book but never finishing it. What I would recommend is starting your dog on a novela, and then moving onto longer and more complex books later on.
I hope this helps.
While my dog may be my best friend, he never calls.
Respectively,
