I use a mac running OS X and am accessing the web with Safari. But the new downgraded official Disney site (for me anyway) says I'm using Netscape <6.0 and says I need to upgrade to Safari- Argh!!!! I'm so frustrated! I can't even get their help or contact us buttons to work- so I don't know how to contact them. I don't want to deal with the reservation people obviously. I have had no problem with any other site and I have been using this system for 6 mths. I don't want to change my programs- they're working- it's Disney that is problematic.
So does anyone
1) have experience with this glitch (so it's not just me
2) Have any suggestions
3) Have a contact site I can use to tell Disney about the issue (i.e. their web people)
I think it is ironic that they put up a new interface and have disabled anyone who is having a problem from using the help or contact us buttons- gee it must be working for everyone or we would have heard...

Hey mckat, I'm having the same problem trying to open the site on a top-of-the-line Power Mac G4. What is funny is that it shows Apple Safari as being a browser that you can use!
Until they fix this problem I suggest you use Internet Explorer (its in your applications folder). When you do open it with IE (which I personally hate) you'll see they are having a few problems with the page loads but it does work.
If I get any news about getting Safari to work I'll post it here.
Have a great evening.

Thanks for the response Tom. I feel so much better. I always have a nagging feeling I'm doing something wrong. By the way, I walked past a sales person for Apple as I was getting coffee not 5 min ago. I let him know the problem. He said it might be because Safari "tells" other sites that it is netscape- because that is the closet similar program available. hmm... Anyway, I also found out there is a bug report site on Safari that I heard they are really monitering as this is a new program. It is an option under the Safari menu. I reported this one, maybe they can get Disney to fix it. I did try explorer (grit teeth) and it did work. Thanks

You might check to see whether Safari can spoof its HTTP User-Agent string. Opera and, I believe, Netscape on Windows can do so. This allows poorly-designed sites which serve content based on the User-Agent (browser) rather than dynamically checking the browser's capabilities to work on advanced browsers.

that could be the problem, however I have the debuging menu enabled and tried swtiching my User Agent-- even to Internet Explorer for Windows 6 and it didn't work.
Usually that fixes a problem like the one with the Disney World website.
Its really weird.

Try updating your version of Safari to the latest version.
Maybe it's something with X? Do they still load those things with both 10 and 9.2? If so, try 9.2.
Or you could try upgrading to a G5 :fez:
