Is anyone else irritated by the insane number of popups polluting our beloved MP?

One or two, OK, but every time I change a page, not OK.

What's that? I can't see your...Oh, wait- there's a fare sale at Expedia! :p

I made this thread (http://mousepad.mouseplanet.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=21723) a few weeks ago about all the pop-ups. Theres some Admin replies in it :)

If people are getting more than three pop-ups in a MousePad session, (which does not include any MousePLANET paqes you may click through to get to MousePad), then tell us.

If you're getting three, that's about right based on the current control settings. Yeah, pop up ads suck - so do server bills.

Is a session from when you:

physically log in until you physically log out

or

is it from when you open the window to when you close the window or

is it per each thread

or is it per each area?

I know it was clarified in the thread I started but that thread still confused me.

If you login every time you come to MousePad, a session starts when you log in.

If you stay logged in between visits, a session starts every time you come back to MousePad. If you close MousePad, and come back ten minutes later, you have started a new session.

I get pop-ups on almost every thread I click on. Every so often, I will be able to click on a thread without a pop-up, but that is an isolated incident. Since I click on about a dozen threads per session, and get about 10 pop-ups doing so, that is far greater than the 3-per-session allowance (if that's what it is).

I understand having to pay the bills, but the pop-up situation on MousePad has gotten annoyingly out of hand.

You should get at most three pop-ups per session, not counting any MousePlanet pages you pass through to get here. If you are getting more than that, then I think it may be a browser issue. Since the pop-up counter is cookie based, you may also need to set your browser to allow cookies.

If you can give one of the admins more specifics, via PM or e-mail, we might be able to figure out what's going on.
