Knott's Berry Farm Press Release

Buena Park, Calif. - Twisting and turning its brave riders in awesome 360-degree arcs, eventually soaring 59 feet into mid-air, Rip Tide will debut in the Spring of 2004.

As Rip Tide riders prepare to board the unique adventure, their path meanders through a picturesque water garden. Upon boarding a 38-passenger gondola, guests will be seated back to back with half facing east, the other facing west suspended above the surface of an undersea grotto, inhabited by sharks, mermaids and other exotic creatures of the deep.

But there's no time for sightseeing. Within seconds the floor drops and guests are soaring and spinning head-over-heels in gigantic 360-degree vertical spins while the gondola loops as well. Rip Tide completes 13 full 360-degree orbits every sixty seconds, in both directions!

HUSS of Germany designed the Rip Tide. HUSS has been manufacturing high-end, innovative amusement park rides since 1969.

Yep, and it's another first of it's kind, a floorless Topspin from Huss.
