SaveDisney.com is a site that provides a place where you can write either Roy Disney or Stan Gold directly, plus is where you can read the official letters written by either Roy Disney or Stanley Gold. They also list a set of Disney related web sites, out of which, MousePlanet is at the top of the list. Here is the welcome message from Roy Disney...

Welcome to Save Disney.com. This website is devoted to those concerned about the welfare of The Walt Disney Company and its future direction. Stan Gold and I plan to use this site as a central information location as we begin to restore Disney to its position as the preeminent entertainment company in the world. We have also provided a mechanism for all interested parties to provide ideas, comments, concerns and input, and we sincerely hope that you will communicate with us.

I thank you for your concern about this wonderful Company founded by my father and uncle more than 80 years ago whose sole motivation was to provide lasting and wholesome entertainment to people around the world. I seek your support as we embark on this extremely important mission to restore the magic and wonder to The Walt Disney Company.

Roy E. Disney

In case anyone was wondering, the domain is in fact registered to Shamrock Holdings Inc, Roy Disney's company.

I'm guessing the simplicity of the site will be be replaced with another very soon. I am sad to see that "disneylandsource.com" didn't make the list.... :-(

Wish I'd seen this thread before the announcements version, I just emailed Darkbeer with that very question (about legitemacy, due to the "homemade" look of the site).

There is a disclaimer at the bottom of the page releasing Shamrock, Mr. Gold, and Mr. Disney of liability for postings to the "message board or chat room", so I suspect they probably have some forthcoming plans to add some ability for visitors to the site to post their own statements of support.

anyone else notice that there seems to be room for more portraits to the right of Roy's and Stanley's? Could be just bad layout or it could be that they expect to be able to put up a couple more portraits, eh? I wonder who may be joining the ranks?

I'm really guessing it's the quick layout of the page and the Microsoft Word Template. The pictures are seperated by spaces, not by a table or any other formal layout.

As I've said, this seems to be a temporary webpage in place until a more sophisticated website opens, so I don't think we should really read too much into it.

Is anybody actually seeing pictures on the page? All I'm getting are pizza boxes.

According to the person I spoke to at Shamrock the other day, it is a temp website. They wanted to get it up quickly so nobody has to try and separate fact from fiction in this whole drama!

How do we actually know that this was authored by them?

Of course, Al Does Seem to Agree (www.miceage.com)

Ok, this thread was just merged, and I read all the replies. I can't believe this. I email Mr. Disney applauding his efforts. Wouldn't it be cool if he replied? I think it would be really cool if Roy was elected the new CEO of Disney....:|

Edited to Add:

Does anyone know whereThis (http://www.shamrockinc.com/contents/home_newsitem.asp?DocID=194) is? I was thinking (for those who know the area) that it is the big Boeing Buliding over by the mall and Best Buy. But that is more Canoga Park. Does anyone know what buliding they are talking about?

I don't think Roy WANTS to be the CEO, but I do believe he has an idea who might be a good candidate...;) Btw, where is MouseQuiz 2.0???? I've been waiting very impatiently! :)

...but I made the subject "words of encouragement from Downunder."

That way, he can assign whatever priority to it he chooses... but still pretty neat being able to email the man himself !! (after all he IS a Disney and carries the burden of a lot of precedence on his shoulders.

Go Roy !!

I haven't seen any 30-acre complex over there, but West Hills *is* West Canoga Park. Maybe it's on that area that used to be
Rocketdyne? Or somewhere beyond the medical center?

Does anyone know if Shamrock still owns Cascadian Foods?

The site originally was developed in phases by TRW between 1958 and 1966, when it was acquired by Hughes Aircraft Co. Hughes conducted aerospace research and development at the 86-acre site until 1994. Shamrock acquired its portion of the site in 1997.They're talking about
this area (http://maps.yahoo.com/py/maps.py?Pyt=Typ&name=Boeing+Rocketdyne&desc=(818)+586-1000&csz=Canoga+Park+CA+91303&country=us&cs=9&mag=8&ed=fWIGSq160SwpDhNNvzKTqjs1o3q.gV4FJZkt3oQKdwJKS_m wik.aTd.mmw46bLPedSB0). As a Canoga Park resident growing up I remember well the demise of Hughes. I don't know exactly how much of this area they're including, but as you can see on the map, between Topanga Cyn Bl. and Canoga Ave is all industrial park area. It continues south to the 101.

BTW it annoys me that it's called "West Hills", just because it sounds better, even though it's definitely in the middle of Canoga Park. Sad, really.

Tell me about it. Over here, it's "NoHo" and "West Toluca Lake". Um, no, it's NORTH HOLLYWOOD, no matter how trendy you want to make it sound.

Hey, you know, I have been thinking about this for awhile, and now, it all seems to fit in.

Roy Disney works for MiceAge.

Think about it. Hasn't most of what Al has said about the parks in the last year come true? He is also always saying that he has "high up" contacts in the company. He also was, from what I have read/heard, the FIRST website to post a link to savedisney.com. Not Just a link though, a full banner ad. Also,he is able to create an entire article about it the next day. Also, MousePlanet is listed first, and Al helped to create MousePlanet. Even, by looking pretty closely, the fonts, colors, and wording all kinda resemble Al's past work with webpages. Also, take a look at his last article written before Roy and Stan resigned (http://www.miceage.com/allutz/al112403a.htm).

Also, have any of you ever heard of Mike McConnell or John Robbins?

I work for Countrywide, one of the attendants of the property in discussion here. We are located in West Hills, at the very north end of Fallbrook Avenue.

I didn't know that Roy Disney was involved in these properties. How interesting.

This is not the Boeing complex next to the Topanga Mall.

Cheers,

Norbert
