QuikQuote: The Buena Park theme park will add its seventh roller coaster next December, a chrome-plated, floorless model called Silver Bullet. The $16 million attraction bolsters Knott's goal of becoming the leading thrill-ride park in Southern California.
"Silver Bullet gives thrill seekers yet another world- class ride,'' said Jack Falfas, general manager of West Coast operations for Cedar Fair L.P.

See, I told ya there was a reason Jack kept pointing at the bullets on his belt at the Winter Coaster Solace :)
So their goal is to become the leading thrill park in the area? In order to do that, they are going to have to be very creative in future ride installations. They are running out of space rather quickly. At least this coaster will offer the second longest ride, after Ghostrider.

I can see the happy face and I hope this was a joke??? your not getting any space by taking out KOD. I would like to see more around ride around the big foot ride and Indian Trails. Other than the dance show the area has lost what it started as.
Do you feel that knotts will just drop there theme and be a O C Six flags?

It doesn't get much more around (and over) Indian Trails than Silver Bullet's ridepath
Is anyone happy with the way Knott's is going? Do you think that if the Knotts family were still in ownership of the park, that it would still be turning into the next Magic Mountain? I'm not entirely sure yet if I like what's being done with the park- I've gone there since I was in diapers, and I've always liked the more laid-back atmosphere. I believe that they probably wouldn't have survived nowadays if they hadn't changed a bit, and doing some new stuff is good...but I'm not sure I like where I see this going. I still have too much of a fondness for the park that's in my memories.

I'm not sure if the Knott family still owned it, that there would even BE a Knott's Berry Farm to still talk about...

It really does need to stay a more balanced park in terms of types of experiences. If it becomes nothing but thrill rides, the bulk of past visitors who are now getting older will stop coming and it'll just be a teen hangout. Do you ever notice the huge number of senior citizens at the California Marketplace? They've been coming since Knott's was nothing more than a berry stand and probably represent a good chunk of the chicken dinner restaurant's revenue. I'd hate to see that market segment forced out.
