So I was talking today with my girlfriend and her parents and some how Disneyland Paris came up. And I had explaned how Euro Disney never closed but merely changed to Disneyland Paris. And she asked me if I knew when the change happened as I have rather outwardly shown my Disney dorkiness. So my question is, when did Euro Disney officially become Disneyland Paris?

EuroDisney still exists, it is the name of the society in France.

EuroDisneyland (the park), became Disneyland Paris in 1994.

At the end of 2001, the name of "Resort "appeared and was also born DISNEYLAND RESORT PARIS, including Disneyland Park, Walt Disney Studios, Disney Village and the Disney's Hotels.

The Disneyland park in France has undergone 3 name changes.
These are the names and when they were used:

EURO DISNEYLAND ---> April 1992 - May 1994

EURO DISNEYLAND PARIS ---> June 1994 - September 1994

DISNEYLAND PARIS ---> October 1994 - February 2002

DISNEYLAND PARK ---> March 2002 - PRESENT :)

One thing some people forget is the change from "EURO DISNEYLAND" to "DISNEYLAND PARIS" had 2 parts to it; first, adding the name "PARIS" in June 1994 and then severing "EURO" in October 1994. Also, the theme park was never called "EURO DISNEY". Again, another common oversight.

The resort opened as "EURO DISNEY RESORT PARIS". For a brief period of time ( I don't know how long ), the resort was still called "EURO DISNEY" while the theme park was called "DISNEYLAND PARIS", so there was a bit of confusion. The resort was later renamed (unofficially?) "DISNEYLAND PARIS RESORT". In 2002, it was officially renamed "DISNEYLAND RESORT PARIS".

The shopping, dining, and entertainment district opened in 1992 as "FESTIVAL DISNEY".
It was renamed "DISNEY VILLAGE" in 1997.

Confused yet ?
;)

"Parc Disneyland" is the french translation for "Disneyland Park". The name "Disneyland Park" can be read at the gates of the park entrance.
On the roads to indicates the parks, it is written "Parcs Disney", whick means "Disney Parks".

And with the financial situation, I hope this place would never be called "where was Disneyland"... :crying:
