Going to Epcot in January for the first time with my 4 yr old daughter.

I've seen in the past something that looks like an activity for kids at each pavillion. Do kids enjoy that? Is it worth doing or is it a grind?

Thanks for any input.

I think that the kidcot stations are worth it. We went last year and my then 4 year old loved them. She got a mask and was able to decorate it more at each station. I also suggest getting a passport. It comes with stickers of each country and they can get it stamped in each country too - It is in our scrap book and my daughter still likes to look at it.

Cool! I have a baby on the way and I'm already looking forward to the day a few years from now when I bring my child to WDW. Looks like it doesn't have to be that far in the future...2008?

My two girls (now, 9 and 4) have also loved doing the mask stuff at the "kidcot" stations. We have been several times over the last few years and we did a mask on each trip. The girls never got tired of it (it's better, however, if you spread doing the mask out over a couple days; trying to do it all in one day would take several hours and probably turn into something of a grind).

I am wondering, however, if the mask stations are still there, as the mask stuff was tied into the Tapestry of Nations/Dreams parade, which has now been discontinued. Even if the masks are gone, I have seen others with the passports, which look like fun. I'm going to suggest that to my girls for our trip in February 2004.

here's my 2 cents...keep in mind, I have two boys - so they've obviously reacted differently than the girls!!! When we were there, our kidos were 5 & 7, and couldn't be more un-interested in the masks. But go ahead, and ask me how long they played on the boat outside Norway or which ever country has the old viking boat....it must have been an hour!

My son loved making his mask in October. And was heartbroken when it was taken from the hood pocket of our stroller in the Magic Kingdom while we were at Goofy's Country Dancin' Jamboree later in the day that he finished it. It's worth doing. Enjoy it.

Your daughter may also like the live entertainment (http://www.mouseplanet.com/wdwupdate/wdw030326mg.htm). My son loves drumming, so his favorites were (obviously) OrisiRisi, the Jammitors, and Matsuriza. But there is singing, dancing, comedy, and all sorts of other stuff to enjoy.

Have fun!

My 6 yr old daughter wasn't very thrilled with the kidcots either. Part of it was she was pretty excited to do "exciting" things. Epcot was a bit of a challenge because of that. But like Mark said, the live entertainment saved us! Much of it is very upbeat. You can get a schedule at the gate and time your wanderings accordingly.

Thanks for the great feedback.

Any confirmation from folks who have been to Epcot post-Tapestry of Dreams that they are still offerin the mask decorating?

As I said a couple of posts up, my son made his last month. That's about as post-ToD as you can get.
